Background information about Team Fortress 2 hat trading system: Hats are made via crafting 3 "refined metal" together. Most hats are only worth about 1.66-2.55 "refined metal", as that is all the community is willing to pay for. Supply and Demand. A key is worth about 3.66 "refined metal" (again, this price shifts due to supply and demand amongst the community). When people wish to get hats in Team Fortress 2, the easiest way is to buy virtual currency from Steam. This currency is a key, which costs $2.49. With this currency they then find a player who will trade a hat for the keys. Players in this game rarely do 1 on 1 hat trading. Usually, the player trades their hats for a certain amount of currency (keys, bought in the Steam Store for $2.49), then use the currency to buy whichever hat they wish. This is why Eurocenter would not need to charge fees for trading: They make money because players buy currency to buy hats from other players. tl;dr People don't want to trade a hat for another hat. They want to trade their hat for currency, then trade the currency for the hat they want.

Moving on with the topic, I don't see an issue with them requiring the+version of graal or at least the customization pack to be able to trade.

 | The reason why players are stating, it will ruin the economy, simply put. If you are trading items for items, you can choose any-hat(for e.x.). Graal isn't making any profit if players can trade amongst themselves. "BUT HOW THEY NO MAKE MOENYZ?!@11/" WELL. In the sense of trading items for items, you can trade something you have, E.X. I have an apple hat, BUT ZERO GRALATS. so, i traded it for someones new hat, or one of there older ones, Graal itself isn't making any money at all. YOU COULD ARGUE, that someone bought a new hat, and then, someone who can't afford it traded one of his/her hats, for the new one, BUT THEN that is still making less than normal profit, a trading system WOULD ruin graal's money making system, which still, they struggle to maintain. If people would take time to define what Fp4 stated near the begining of this thread; He states *FROM MY POINT OF VIEW* That, "we (me being a big part of the project) are working on Player-To-Player selling and/or buying," it would go down more like this, again, this is only my opinion. This way. Players are still getting there items of interest, but without ruining graals economy, might even raise it a small bit, seeing how players would farm/buy packs to buy off of who ever has the item of interest. The term of "trading" should be dropped, clearly it isn't trading, it is player-to-player buying and selling. oh. also... my mental state is weak at 3:30am (the time i did this, so rep plz ) |

 | Although it's an old concept, it's still very intriguing. Implementing something akin to a trade system would bring about many possibilities. The outcome should be interesting. |
