I hate era for its "trade system". Personally i dont think of it as trading, more as trust. However, if classic had a good trade system, i would like it a lot. To make it not scam able (like era) instead of dropping items, and trusting, actually having to go into profile, more options, send trade request. Once he or she accepts, it would bring up an interface that you can select which hats and or items to put in aswel as gralats. Once done, you have the option of accepting or declining the trade...

The idea of trade isn't opposed at all, it's just a very big project to complete and do right. We (me being a major contributor to the project) are working on providing means to facilitate player-to-player commerce and hope to have it ready in the near future. |

It's not hard to come up with a pretty sound theory on why this hasn't been developed yet. Maybe it is partially because it requires a large amount of work, but I'm sure there are other underlying factors. Why do you think it's so difficult to exchange gralats on iClassic? Recently, in-house farms sort of allow you to do it, but on PC Graal you could simply S+A and drop gralats. If anything, it's a functionality they had to work to disable on iClassic. It's a little bit like a video game trade-in shop. Major retailers and game studios don't want these third-party options to exist. Why? Because they don't profit in any way off of games being traded between people. When you see a new hat or a certain item on Graal that costs money, you can pay for it by gralats that you've either farmed or won in events or that you've paid for a purchased with real money. Graal is a business and they want your real money. Every time a hat is released, Graal definitely makes money on that day. That's good for a business. If you introduce a trading system, players will no longer be encouraged to spend money on gralats. Gralats won't even be the only currency. When you can trade hats for other hats, you basically no longer have to rely on gralats. You can just trade, and trade, and trade, and Graal is slowly going to become less dependant on gralats and the game is going to make less money. Simply put, it's probably not the best business decision for Graal to implement a (free) trading system. How else is the game supposed to make money? That's what I'd imagine has been holding it back for so long. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't true though, taking into consideration the poor management and business decisions the Graal management have made in the past. I've never even known of a successful Graal ad campaign, etc. Who knows, I guess. |

If the business side of Graal is what prevents certain things from being developed, just off the top of my head I can think of several easy ways to pull gralats from the economy and encourage users to want more. Make each trading transaction cost a flat amount of gralats. 1000 or 2000, I don't know. Just with that change alone, the trading system may end up consuming more gralats than hat shops. Or, make an entry fee for the GST. It happens once every three months, so make guilds pay 10,000 or 20,000 gralats to submit each team. Again, it's just a theory that the gralat economy is part of what is holding this system back, and if it is then it could easily be remedied. |

Actually no. Trading will help encourage people to buy packs. It isnt much different from buying from shops? Personally, i think your statement is completly wrong. Think about it, video game stores first stell a game, a comparison to a hat, and when someone doesnt like the game, they will give it back. Then the store will sell it for less, but they are making more money even though its less because they are selling the game twice. Another point to say is that, if you see someone selling a hat that you really want, and dont have the amount he is asking, you arent going to go farm for an hour, and hope its there. You will be pressured and will buy the pack. The last point id like to say, it relates more to era, is that for example, if you were scammed, and spent too much money, you will be sad about it, possibly resulting in having to buy more packs. So no. I do not think that it will decrease the amount of packs bought, but it will increase the amount of packs bought. |
