I've watched enough action movies to know that this is a great idea. It helps that the bad guys have horrible aim while the good guys (teachers) can take the wings off a fly from a 100 yards out.

Since 2013, there have been at least 188 school shootings in America resulting in 60+ deaths. Definitely far from only a few cases.

There have always been guns in the US. What's making people shoot **** up now?

There is few countries that allow you to have a gun (if license for it). not just in America.besides on that logic isis is free to have guns bomb people do what the fk they want(basically the same thing-with extremists)just they don't go off a parliament/government type thing.

Maybe their could be a safe in some classrooms that could only be activated by the principal during shootings. The classrooms with the safes would have teachers who have gun licenses so that way they know exactly how to use it. At this point we don't know when the next mass shooting will be, but we seem to have one every month and if our government doesn't step up to do anything more people are going to die.

Just stop selling automatic rifles to civilians? there is already 1m+ ar15's in circulation (the one used in orlando shooting) but by restricting the sale of automatic weapons you restrict what a person can do in terms of using a firearm

Honestly, mental illness is the real issue behind most shootings we see. Obviously there's many problems with gun control and background checks, but mental illness is the issue that needs addressed much more than gun control right now. There's no systems to help people, to catch red flags that family members often see. We just leave the mentally ill out to dry, and then we end up with casualties.

the sale of new fully automatic rifles to consumers is illegal.

in fact so is the manufacturing and registering of new fully automatic rifles.

it has been this way for over 30 years.
