i mean i heard of kids shooting up their schools but is that a frequent thing, is that y u guys need cops in schools?

We ain't paying teachers enough to teach us. I wouldn't want to put more stress on them needing to pull a trigger if that ever happens which to me us 1% chance if it isn't a ghetto area

No. That never happens. Only a few cases. Kids aren't allowed to have guns. You have to be I believe 18 in areas.

Cops are mainly for fights. So they can issues tickets or arrest them and take them in. Mainly just to make sure everything goes as it should.

I never had a shooting in my area.

Here in the case of a fight our teachers just go Super Saiyan and intervene (they don't use agressive violence, but they hold the right to use whatever force nessecary to seperate students).

Here a student recieves a suspension by the board and nothing more, police are only brought in if an outside party presses charges.

No, federal law requires you to be 18 to purchase a gun, and most states have restrictions on top of that. Weapons of any sort also aren't allowed in schools unless they are carried by officers or under special circumstances.

My school required an officer present to search a student (drugs, weapons).

It's less about students shooting up schools, and more about students being in gangs. It is to a point where teachers are risking their lives to teach in some places in the US.

Guns look like the problem to people outside of the US, but there are a lot more factors.

I mean there were a lot of school shootings the past year(s), and there is usually just 1-2 cops in the whole entire school (I think at least), but I still don't know if I'm fully on the YES side to giving teachers the right to bear arms

I don't see why not. If the teacher wants to have a gun, I say go for it. I'm not saying it should be mandatory for teachers to have guns, but if the teacher wants to go through the training and such in order to have a gun ready in case of emergency then why not? Couldn't make the situation any worse. If people don't want their kids exposed to that kind of thing I'm sure there are plenty of other gun-free schools to choose from.

Now without using insults, I am open to have a nice discussion with anyone who might disagree.

I do think the teacher should go through training before being able to have a firearm in the classroom, but I don't think it should be limited to just security or police. Many schools don't have either of those. If someone starts shooting in one of those schools, the only defense the students and teachers have is a locked door. The only downside I can think of is it would be easier for students to get a hold of the weapon, but even that seems unlikely if the teacher can find a secure place to keep it.

Seems like you don't understand what freedom is. As an American, I don't quite like my rights being taken from me, be it for security or no. You can call that dumb, but don't be upset when I call you dumb for giving up your freedoms.

The United States is a Democracy. If Americans truly want to get rid of guns, guns would be restricted. However, there are more issues to deal with than just regulating guns.

I've watched enough action movies to know that this is a great idea. It helps that the bad guys have horrible aim while the good guys (teachers) can take the wings off a fly from a 100 yards out.

Since 2013, there have been at least 188 school shootings in America resulting in 60+ deaths. Definitely far from only a few cases.
