Lol wouldn't be funny that the flag can convert your written language.

Like if you pm a friend that is american and you write that person in english, but the game will change it to your original language.

Like this:

Your friend pms: Hello, how are you?
Me: Types "Hey, how are you?" but sends pm: Hola, como estas?
Your Friend: what? I don't understand mexican
Me: *Loses friend for not knowing spanish*

A couple people speculated that it might only check to update your flag once in a while. Yours was showing Singapore for me earlier when you asked and you were trying to figure out what was going on, but It's now showing UK as expected for me.

fp4 can you say whether this is a bug and it should be an instant update on login/logout or if there's a delay to or set interval that it updates at?  

So could someone explain to me what makes this so relevant? Like what is so important about knowing someone's country?

Many people at the arena and towers constantly use VPN software to emulate a really poor connection to Graal's US servers to lag themselves, usually by connecting a VPN server in some foreign country, so this kind of exposes them for that

It's basically just a losers' strategy of "if I can't be as good as other players, I'll use artificial methods to make it so that everyone else around me is significantly worse against me"
