I was gonna post the link to thread about the big ass day/night cycle discussion,but Rufus beat me to it. If I remember correctly the best idea was for it to be set up like LOZ Ocarina of Time. That way the day/night cycle would just be back and forth all the time. I'm sure there are lots of possibilities they can tinker with for a day/night system. This might sound stupid or even crazy. What about making half the map day time and half the map night time and each side would alternate? So when the East side of the map is night time the west side would be day time. Or you could break it down even further and make it into several separate regions and its only dark in one region at a time. Those regions would be broke down by direction. NE,N,NW,E,SE,S,SW,W. Then when you click on the map it could show you which region was currently dark or "night time". |

Adding to this gc should probably be the basis of time 15 minutes should be the equivellant of an hour.dead wood oasis and oasis shoukld be left out of this time scale and remain the same way.clocks should be set up to make it easier to keep up with time scales. Possitives .a lot better atmepheric enjoyment .opening for quests .new game play .improved story line .better graphics .more players! .more money for stefan!? .better use of lantern .better rp .probably cut down on spammers in gc .babies are scared of the dark .more realistic .funner .more to explore and learn ETC Negatives .some players will complain .A lot of effort .some scenarios will be difficult to overcome .harder to spot things .can cause bugs .will limit certain ideas .new players at a disadvantage So if you weigh up disadvantages to advantages it seems to be in favour of being implemented so i dont see why this shouldnt be added other than lazyness |

We need two servers for fk sake one with all those role players and quests n stuff + night time to prevent lag on a server which is all about stats eg pk, spar, towers and GS. By splitting the servers into 2 there will be less lag. Server lag would be banished from classic depending if classic reaches idk 7k players or something. I'm really for this I really want a clean stat server away from these irritating code shop, I'm single ready to mingle or I'm bi and 16 players for fk sake. |

As far as the lighting/noob issue Look at any of the LOZ games from Ocarina and up as examples none of them require you to get a lantern to travel at night. You just travel and different things pop up,and different areas are accessible or un-accessible. I can't really see why classic couldn't follow the same model and not require lanterns to travel in a night time setting. So I don't really see the need to make players have a lantern to travel around at night. Just work it into the tutorial some how so noobs will know whats going on. I also think they could add more baddies to the map during a night time period. Maybe slightly raise the spawn rates in areas where there are all ready baddies,and have baddies spawn in areas where there are no baddies currently. Like the whole area below the southern Graal city entrance. There are a few other areas on the map where baddies don't currently spawn that they could be as well. |

The night is a bad idea :/ you Will use the night few days and after u Will stop because it Will be bored and admin Will need it upload the map and the server. If you want gosth, night, bats ... Go deadwood
