1. The authentication servers are messed up big time--Mojang needs to fix those.
2. Bukkit hasn't updated yet.

Bukkit is becoming pretty unreliable since it is taking them several weeks just to update. Now that Mojang is creating non-major updates that require you to upgrade in order to go on servers, Bukkit is starting to seem obsolete. Before, you didn't have to upgrade a 1.1.2 Bukkit server in order to log in with a, say, 1.1.4 client. It seems Mojang is moving away from that, and quite frankly I'm tired of blocks of weeks or more of having a useless server.

I don't suppose there are any alternatives to Bukkit?

Hey the servers not useless. We had 5 people on today.

It seems like the nether is gone. I looked it up on google and found out how to fix it, but youll have to do that matt.

I am fine with playing on an out-of-date server. Only takes a couple of seconds for me to downgrade with mcnostalgia

Mojang are releasing updates every 2 weeks or so >.>
Why can't they slow down a bit and compile all updates into another version, like back in the Beta days?

One of my other servers I sometimes play on uses Bukkit. Its running 1.4.4 and is stable so...

There is one bitch of a bug, I was trying to get some diamonds from a lava lake, I drank my fire resistance potion, 8:00, I jump in and it's like I didn't even drink it. Died and lost all my stuff...
