I think the idea of Clientsided Censorship sounds better then it really is. For starters, i really don't think it's necessary to allow obscene/rude words to anyone in this game anyway. People need to be mature and keep in mind that there are some younger players, and it seems odd to separate the chat into a "swearing" group and a non-"swearing" group. In another light, young people arn't stupid, do you really want them open to a world of obscenities and rude words with a simple adjustment option?

That's their perogative. If they want to turn off censorship, then that's up to them. If they're offended by what they hear then obviously the only person at fault is themselves.

Also, this can put a barrior on conversations in graal. Sometime you need to reword something because it wrongly censors it, thinking your trying to avoid the censorship. The problem this causes is; if you were talking to someone with Clientsided Censorship, you wouldn't know that it censored it, and the other player may get thd wrong idea about what your trying to say. I know the last example is pretty circumstancial, but i can see that happening more then you think. I just think you guys should give this a little more thought. These are just some concerns i have.

These are rare circumstances though. "What the **** did you say?" Do you need to know what the censored word is to understand the sentence? The human brain has the ability to fill in the blanks. Yes, maybe sometimes a censored word can add confusion, but overall that is a rare occurrence.

In the end what you're proposing it seems to be is the current censoring system. The one everyone just evades anyways. Technology can't censor these words people want to say, if they care to actually say it. All it really does is cause annoyance to those who shouldn't be getting censored, just because the letters in what they're saying lined up wrong. So young people get exposed to "***" instead of "****." But if someone were to say, "She was unapologetic until I told her what I knew." they'd be censored. It's a broken system, and it accomplishing nothing that you're trying to take into consideration.

No, it's the servers fault for allowing such words, and i doubt the child them self would be offended, i'd worry a little more about their parents hearing the cool stuff they read! Keep in mind the age gap of Graal...

No they're NOT allowing such words. They're giving the players the choice to disallow it. If they don't care to use what's provided then yes, it is their fault. Also, parents should be well aware of what children can encounter online. If they don't want their child exposed to such things then they need to intervene... but of course they won't. They'd rather blame everyone but themselves.

There's a difference between joking around with your friends, and raging on a young player because he was laggy in spar. The main fact i'm getting at is that this basically encourages the use of rude words. I know you may not be thinking of this, but i can almost guarantee the use of obscene words will go up drastically if this comes into play.  

They should at least leave the chat up even if it's censored. What's the point of making the chat disappear just because a word is censored?

No, you imagine it will. But I have played games with clientside filtering. It works brilliantly.

I don't need to agree with you, I just see some flaws with the idea. I'm just saying there are some really young players on Graal, who do not see much swearing/rude words due to the simple fact that not "everyone" tries to bypass the censor. I definitely don't think it's a bad idea, i just don't think it would be good for Graal. If added, they could easily be open to a lot of words their parents would not like.

Except there would be a censor. If their parents don't like the words, wow, omg, there is a filter that would actually filter the words!  

If their parents are that concerned they wouldn't give them free reign to the Internet in the first place

Lol, they could easily turn it off, which is my main point. I'm done talking about it though, i was just sharing my opinion about it, this is a forum after all. So if it's added, it's added, just expressing how i think.

Now that we have that cleared up i would like to say Graal shouldn't be something that parents with young children should worry about. It isn't bad parenting if they know the gane has, say, a word filter.

That can, and often is, avoided. Again, if the filter is there, how is it GraalOnline's fault for the child turning it off? Yes, Graal is a game apparently catered towards children, but it's been shown time and time again that the filter they currently uses accomplishes none of what you're saying it does.
