I agree with Admiral. The first time you become staff, you love the attention, but it gets boring after a few weeks. Plus, you only really get attention if you stand in a crowded area with your tag on which is not what your supposed to do. Generally, if you don't have your tag on and you're in a secluded area, you get no PM's, if you have your tag on, maybe 2-3, so you don't really get attention unless you try, which I think most staff avoid doing.

You get attention because everyone wants free stuff or to try and become staff. It is very easy to tell the people who are just pming you to try get on your good side from the ones who don't. Very rare to find though as 60% of messages are asking for stuff, the other 35% being players asking to ask a question which usually leads to asking for stuff, and 5% of people just saying what they need help with.

Being 'worshipped' just makes your job harder.
Asking to ask a question is probably what annoys me the most because then I have to reply to them and say what is your question, and then wait for an answer, to then answer to, whilst also having 20 other people doing the same thing, and it just turns into a never ending loop of pming back and forth between all these people, and I can't move on to anyone else.
I also don't like being pmed just hello, because I have found 80% of the time it just leads to, how are you, can you give me a doll.

Anyway, yea nobody has ever given me their address/phone number etc, what is your skype or kik is probably the only thing i've seen pop up which I just ignore, so I find your story hard to believe, especially as the area you are in, in the photo almost nobody goes to

Having said all this i'm actually one of the lucky few who receives less attention, but still enough that it does make some things difficult. I've been staff on era for over 2 years now and I still get people asking me whether i'm new or that they've never seen/heard of me before lol

Can't really blame the players, back during the days of zones release, the majority of staff just sat in start with their gold tags on, talking on rc and ignoring everyone

 

Staff shouldn't be getting a lot of attention. They should be known they're there for when they're needed, but the only time to be visible in public is during special activites or events. The only staff who get a lot of attention are the ones seeking it. On zone, I always got PMs for questions, help, etc... and sometimes just people talking to me, you always get those people who spam every admin they see, but otherwise, staff really don't get attention.
