That's what caused this miscommunication.

What caused it was that I interpreted the OP one way and Dusty another way.
It is, but you just didn't explain it well. You (and the OP) made it sound like only your character freezes in place while everything else on the screen continues to move on your device.

I wasn't trying to explain it, my first post on this thread was the links to the freezing thread since I felt OP was having the same issue that I was having.
Regardless of what OP was trying to say, he probably got an answer since both problems were addressed.
another thread where people can't understand the difference between poor framerate and latency issues

The "freezing issue" is when the client literally freezes and experiences a sudden halt, or massive framerate drop. This means ALL processing stops while this goes on, so you wouldn't be able to move, animations stop and all input does not work. The entire app is basically frozen for a sudden short burst of time.
When you experience latency(or connection lag) the client itself is still functioning perfectly fine. That means while other players may not be moving, they are still animated, since animations are handled on your end by the app(clientside). You can still move as a player as well, since again, your movement is handled on the clientside end.
The fact that he said he could still move was a dead give-away that it was a connection issue and not a framerate issue.
