I agree somewhat with PigParty's opinion but I think he's doubting the sparring community.. since the towering community has already ruined the whole concept of what "editing" is . I don't know what other sparring teams want but from my experience with one of my team's GST hat, we only wanted the hat to be shaded a little differently from the original.

I realize I look at most things from a somewhat pessimistic staff point of view ever since I had to deal with certain situations on iZone, and my whole point is that you see how far it has been abused for towering. The same could eventually happen for the GST too. If it was minor edits involving color, or a symbol, as shown in that image at the beginning of the thread, it would be perfectly fine. I see situations that seem immune to abuse, yet players still find a way, and I just consider that with most ideas/decisions now. That's basically my thought process behind disliking the editing idea.

No, you said things about david and dae personally and they are two people I respect.

I may have talked about their competency after I was hardcore attacked from them first. Once they cross the line, that's their fault. I never attacked someone, calling them ******ed. I state that they are throwing a tantrum, getting pissed for no reason, etc. But not personally attacking their character. My only attacks on anyone are in defense after someone does a personal attack on me. I don't respect people who take every argument personally and make personal, ignorant attacks such as calling someone ******ed and other name calling. It's just immature, and that's what happened to me, so of course I will call it out for being childish and immature, but that's hardly attacking someone's character.

Let's be honest here, you're iZone staff **** talking in the iClassic subforum about a topic you don't have relevance too...you may as well be attacking the entire spar community with that attitude.

I used to spar (I never was very food, but wasn't half bad either ) and I have plenty of experience on iClassic. I would think I'd have relevance. Honestly I mostly quit Classic. So when it comes to newer things, I usually don't know what they're talking about, so I stay out of it. I've experienced the GST multiple times so I am relevant. Besides, it's just my opinion. If the spar community is insulted because I think edits would be a bad idea, then that's just sad. In fact, I actually suggested either keeping the prize the same, allowing a completely customized hat, or finding a new unique prize. I was just describing why I thought edits were a bad idea, which really relates to my staff experience on iZone, and me putting myself in the shoes of a Classic staff. I'm also starting to play Classic somewhat more. Not hardcore or anything, I'm done with Graal in general when it comes to intense gaming, but I'm getting into it again at least.

Plus, my opinion is just my opinion and I share it on the forums, where it's meant to be shared. I see people who never played iZone go and post on the iZone forums and just say comments like "zone sucks" and that's it. I try to bring discussion with my opinions and I back them with my reasoning. I'm definitely quite aware of all sides to this issue. Btw I think it was you who mentioned me not using paragraphs when I type? Yea... I hate paragraphs. I always forget to use paragraphs on my school essays. I don't like breaking up areas that are still related. I prefer a book-style of writing

Not sure what your point is either. As I said before, I'm not quite sure why someone would think you'd have to win a GST to have an opinion to what the prize should be. In fact, I look at it objectively because I see all sides to the issue, and I know I won't win a GST, so I'm not biased toward one side.

The truth is, I'm not leaving the classic subforum because you dislike my opinions. You can either get over it and argue with me about the issue, or ignore me in general. I'm not going to continue responding to everyone who attacks me personally because of my opinion that they dislike.

I'd say I met him early 2011. I helped him about when he got his guild to 1k and got the hat of himself

Well lets use me as example, I have 13500 spar wins, I have sparred over 18000 times, I have participated in 13 gsts, I have probably played this game the same time if not longer then you have.

My point is people with more relevance should have their opinion placed at a higher level then yourself and others.

If Sarah came here and told you that these hats are stupid and custom hats are a much better idea then the current prizes I'd see that as a greater opinion then yours.

I have no clue why 40 people have said no to editing/customizing hats that seems fishy to me.

I am never going to win a gst but I think the winners should have a say in what their hat looks like.
Its something they can only do every 3 months and even then real life stuff can stop them participating which means another 3 months wait.
Where as 1k guilds get to choose their hat even though they can have various leads, tower whenever they want etc.

If staff came up with something that clarified what exactly on each hat could be changed (symbol, color, etc.), that could allow edits to be efficient. I got attacked, even though I agree that the GST prize isn't good enough for the effort and skill required to win a GST. I simply gave my reasoning behind why edits are problematic and some took that as an attack on sparrers in general.
Honestly since so many people have related this to 1k towering... It's obvious that towering needs a revamp. Custom hats have become so devalued compared to what they should be. That's part of the reason I thought even a custom hat for GST winners isn't enough, and why I suggested something unique. I gave that example of a sword, simply as an example, and got attacked even more for an idea I put no thought into, haha.

Didn't say you weren't an old player, just seemed like people were treating pigparty like he was someone who had only played zone.

That's why I own an event hat from 2011 and my account has a fair amount of hours on it.

I agree that different achievements should give different rewards.
Or at least make it a point system.

It'd be nice to be able to differentiate between gst and 1k/5k stuff.
Its all just hats, and that gets kinda boring.
