As I posted the week before the gst; It is ridiculous to win a log or a hotdog hat as a prize for a fighting tournament, Wouldn't it make more sense to win something that makes you look tough? like a proper helmet that looks great or a bad ass mask of some sort.

Isn't this exactly what had been done up until a few seasons ago? Where everyone said they were tired of the same old battle themed hats?

So what happened? The staff begin to make a variety of hats, steering toward a more random theme. But then there's new complaints, some complaints even contradicting what they had just asked for.

You're acting like I'm complaining about the hats being bad. I don't even think they're bad, not at all. I'm complaining that you guys do a complete **** job of clarity and consistency with the rules, and I'm for once looking out for the interest of my guild and trying to get them something that might be cool (like many guilds in the past have been able to). My mistake was thinking someone could take 5 seconds out of their day to upload the hat Sun made.

By battle helmets we mean not giant hunks of **** that are made on microsoft paint. if you want an example go on your staff account and look at crz's idev 3rd place gst hat.

If you haven't noticed sparrers wear hats that're small and easy to wear. Not giant hunks of junk that make you feel and look slow.

YES I love my bird hat but I'll never spar while wearing it at all...

You may not be complaining about the graphics, but you're complaining about clarity. I agree, it's not fair for past winners to have gotten to edit their hats. I don't think they should've been given that option anyways. They were given the option though, and that's that.

Problem is, things change. This option hasn't been given out to the winners for awhile now (correct me if I'm wrong). Just like how 1k guild hats were changed to .PNG only. Newer guilds can complain that past guilds got .GIF 1k hats. Doesn't mean they're going to get that option.

As long as you can agree that the clarity was terrible then there's no other argument from my end  

I would of thought xor and leah would of given one of the most accomplished guilds of all time soul of ninjas their hat edit :/ damm

Also, why are you making it out as if you're getting nothing? You stated it yourself, you've won 9 GST hats, whereas people would be grateful for one. Just because it's not being recolored to satisfy your personal preference doesn't mean it's a lesser hat than the ones given in the past.

i can make a serious offensive statement against this, but nah.
then feel like rufus gonna stop giving out gst hats as a prize.  

I remember this hat (which I didn't really care for before or after the edit) had gray "goggles" or whatever it is under the helmet, and shading was fixed on it. I remember it being extremely ugly before the edit and now it's only moderately ugly.



I know there were more edits on the idev side, tho. I'm sure Comyt or Kouji can confirm this.

Just post them zet, otherwise the staff will have no idea or reference to go on.
We've all tried to explain that these hats have gotten worse and worse over time and yet the staff continues to do what we tell them not to do.  

My question is where did kenovo even come from

That's the problem. Bigger doesn't always mean better.

Also about the other posts regarding old gst hats.
Sure, they weren't outlined or shaded "correctly", but the style they had of being more centered around masks, goggles, wings with electricity.
Those were nice, even if not "correctly" pixeled.

I think they may only look good due to it's rarity though(You don't have it, so you want it, because it's rare).
People 3-4 years from now will complain about how their hats don't look as good as past winners' hats


Even a simple recolor of the knight helmet on my signature would be a worthy gst hat imo. I guess it's all just preference, and I know that graal is heading more towards a "cute" style for the younger community, but for a spar tournament the hats should make you look like a "badass warrior" who "survived".
