If there is a rule that explicitly states "no edits on hats won in GST", then it has been broken many times before. If they decided to randomly reinforce this rule recently, whatever. But how are we expected to know this is a rule when it has been done before?

Either way it's a dumb rule if the GFX artist who made the hat is willing and capable of editing it and re-uploading it.

Just wanted to rant out that it just seems rude and lazy for it to be denied (especially after Sun made it) when we've won many other hats and never requested a change, looking on as other guilds get theirs, unknowing that we would be gated by it being something offered for a limited time

like im not trying to be rude or anything, i truthfully want to know why there's always something to complain about or to want coming from the sparring community. As Aguzo said, there's an option of 3 hats for a reason. You should pick the hat you like best and then be done with it. no where does it state edits are allowed (they may have been done in the past, but this isnt the past). Just like any hat that is uploaded onto the server, it's there and then that's that.

I don't understand why it's a huge deal for an admin to take a few seconds out of there time to reupload a hat for a first place team. Especially when teams that haven't even won the gst have gotten hats edited. How's that fair? Who cares if it was the past.

I really hate being blunt, but having these kinds of options, or alternatively, hats that good enough to not have edits asked of them in the first place would prevent a lot of this. Half the time it isn't people complaining to complain, but some very reasonable requests.

how is recoloring a hat to green making it any better? that's personal preference. same goes for adding a logo or anything of that matter.

many of you also continue to say the hats given to you aren't up to your standards. but what is? there has never been any real feedback as to what you want aside from the usual "masks, wings, etc" which obviously can't be done every season for every hat. saying the hats arent graphically appealing (i think theyre all put together nicely - of course my opinion) isnt going to change anything.

2011-2012 - US is winning every GST. GSTs are even being hosted more frequently. They are getting really nice hats that come straight from PC Graal. I believe they were even given that blue beanie hat for winning the most GSTs in a year (didn't confirm with Rufus). Overall, they're hooked up with some pretty nice hats. They deserve it.

2014-2015 - Alumni is winning every GST. We are shoveled butt-tier hats, but we never complain about them (at least I never have). Hats from PC Graal can no longer be used. We aren't offered any "because you're good" hat (if that ever happened). We have no admen in our guild. That's fine, because we suck it up and deal with it. You can't change the past, we get it.

Last week - Thallen: "Hey team, since we didn't want the Tweety Bird or hot dog hat, do you think staff would have it in their heart to allow us to recolor and add a letter to the front of our hat? It kind of sucks that all of the better hats in the past 2 years were red or blue and some variety would be nice before we retire the guild."
Team: "Probably, considering they let multiple other guilds make small changes to their hat."

The other day - Thallen: "Hey Sun, can you edit our hat?"
Sun: "Sure!"

Today - Leah: "Literally **** you because we don't allow GST hats to be edited anymore." (obviously not her exact words)

Right now - You: "What's the big deal?"

 

The hilarious and extremely easy/obvious fix here is to just let the first place team make and upload the hat that they want because it would literally fix all of these issues. Staff will get less complaints, first place teams will be happy, GST will become way more competitive in general because people will be sparring for something they actually want, etc.

But this hasn't and won't be implemented because of the very obvious reason: "?????????????????????"

You stated nothing but opinions in your reply. Most of the older PC Graal hats are graphically less professional then what is being released today. This isn't an opinion, it's a fact. If you know anything about Pixel Art you can notice the obvious flaws that were made back then. Nothing like that is done today, because it doesn't look good.

Also, why are you making it out as if you're getting nothing? You stated it yourself, you've won 9 GST hats, whereas people would be grateful for one. Just because it's not being recolored to satisfy your personal preference doesn't mean it's a lesser hat than the ones given in the past.

I guess the hordes of people who would trade in their current GST hats for any of those old ones just have bad taste. :<  

As I posted the week before the gst; It is ridiculous to win a log or a hotdog hat as a prize for a fighting tournament, Wouldn't it make more sense to win something that makes you look tough? like a proper helmet that looks great or a bad ass mask of some sort.

I have to agree with the Alumni guys its ****ing stupid that xor has disallowed this.
When you think about it the staff team will be happy when Alumni retires the guild because a new team will get to begin a new chapter in gst history.

Alumni deserve a reward like US got. Just because they won in a different day and age does not mean the rewards should be worse then they used to be.  

I don't need to have a PhD in Pixeling for Graal Online to put a hot dog (sorry at whoever made it, not being rude) beside any of the hats that US won or Shane made to tell you which one is going to viewed as "better" by 90% of the community.

You're acting like I'm complaining about the hats being bad. I don't even think they're bad, not at all. I'm complaining that you guys do a complete **** job of clarity and consistency with the rules, and I'm for once looking out for the interest of my guild and trying to get them something that might be cool (like many guilds in the past have been able to). My mistake was thinking someone could take 5 seconds out of their day to upload the hat Sun made.  

Also just on the topic of pc graal hats. They are all better then the current hats that are provided as gst prizes.

Just because you make a hat that looks like a work of art does not mean its superior in terms of looks.
