Speed Hacking Detection
PC Graal had it and I'm coming to learn that apparently the Facebook/iPhone servers do as well. When I run Graal from a browser (either server) in Firefox, everything runs smoothly. On Chrome, I get weird spurts of speed. I was banned because of it a few months ago, left feedback for admins (and emailed), and was never replied to. The other day, I was running with Crono and his brother, Aran, to the guild spars. Immediately when I stepped into the guild spar, I was warped to a warning level that said I was speed hacking. Figured it was an erroneous warp so I ignored it. Walked all the way back and then was banned for three days for the same thing. I have a friend, David, who experiences this same thing when he plays Graal through Internet Explorer. Anyone else encountering these type of issues? I'm also having to reboot, go into my BIOS, and disable my overclocking just to play Graal, as overclocking also increases my speed by a lot. Wondering if there's anyone I can contact if/when this happens, as the ban screen form seems to go unresponded to. |

I myself have never encountered this problem, but from the sound of it it sounds like a pain in the ass. Try contacting Xor with the issue. I'll be honest though, for the issue to be taken seriously this problem will probably need to occur for a lot of players before action is taken. If you keep getting banned my only advice is to play on an iDevice or play around with your browsers to stop the sudden speed bursts.

So the devilish brother story is gone? Just kidding. Sounds like something IE would do, not Firefox. |

It's not automated. I know people that speed hack all the time that don't get banned. It's probably a faulty admin assuming you're hacking.

This is rather difficult. If for some reason, the flash client timing is off due to overclocking (not my forte), than yes, you might be moving faster than you should. This would entail that you are actually speed hacking (not intentionally but the point still stands) in which case, Stefan would need to investigate and find out what is happening. That said, I don't know if thats the case and it sounds odd. Also, the browser itself shouldn't come into this (in theory) as Flash should be in it's own sandbox =/ |

It's not the overclocking. I don't know if it's because I set my Flash quality as low or what? Like I said, this most recent time I was running right beside another player, Aran, and Crono was somewhere nearby. Definitely wasn't speedhacking as I'm pretty sure they can attest to that (although you'll find 20 buttmad sparrers who will claim otherwise for their own personal reasons, derp). I don't even understand how one could really benefit from speedhacking, not in a way where they couldn't be manually caught. Pretty much willing to do whatever is necessary to get around this and understand why it's happening.
Doesn't bother me anymore than being called a "sword spammer", "PC", etc. but just not really understanding how that information gets out or why. |

Hi there Thallen! Anyways, I have also experiences some issues with Google Chrome. Mainly latency wise, random spikes and maybe this could be directly related to bursts of speed/slowness. I use Mozilla/IE once in a while, it is fine. (They both suck as browsers though :> ) |

This sounds like a problem, I don't see how hacking could be differentiated from this though...

speed does give you an advantage if you know how to use it.
