The MsBad Amendment
Everybody knows her! Everybody loves her (even if you don't want to admit it!) Ahh yes! I'm talking about MsBad... Just like from our favorite television shows, every little town has its stars: the town sheriff, the town drunk, the barber, blacksmith, mailman, ministry of foreign affairs man... the list goes on, but West has that one little added bonus- among all the classic 50's PG black and white bliss, they never had what we have- and I do mean "we", because rather we shoot and curse at each other or not, we are a community; we are a family- and we have a town prostitute! You may shun her. You may consider her a nut case, whack job, or freak. You may consider her as the equivalent of a dint in your truck, or a thorn in your bum. But regardless, in this tiny sea of dark-haired boys that want to blast each other to high heavens only to see a red number increase, MsBad is one of the few who could be considered an "entity". Yes, rather you prefer it or not, this smutty fox is one of West's few town attractions- the stuff that makes a common passerby stop and give a nod to our dusty hole of hell. Ladies and gentleman... your town attraction is under lock and key... Jail. Story has it that our lady was jailed by Admin Jeff. Why? Well, for doing what she does best, of course- for being exactly who she is- for insulting the dimensions of Admin Jeff's lower regions!... IF YOU CATCH MY DRIFT lol. Are you laughing?... You should be. It's funny. If you're human, it's funny. Story has it that he jailed her for 12 hours over this... A petty rib! A common jest! I feel like we should have a town paper "THIS JUST IN: WOMAN INSULTS MAN'S 'PARTS', GETS THROWN IN THE SLAMMER!"... you wouldn't ever hear about this in real life though, because our civilization is run by ADULTS... wait, would you? I am an adult. Take it from me, kids, and I do believe this with every fabric of my being: the greatest pinnacle of human existence is the sense of humor. If you cannot simply learn to laugh at yourself; if you cannot learn to BE with yourself, then I highly disapprove your being IN CHARGE of other people's fates- especially ones whom, where they live, are blessed by The First Amendment. Not everyone has freedom of speech, I respect that, but I'd also like to be respected for having it. Technically, MsBad was jailed for vulgarity, but how can you be punished for this in a game that LITERALLY has the following option: [ ] Disable Swear Filter Turns off the Swear Filter (You can see other player's swear words) ^ Somebody. Anybody. Explain this. If a game openly gives you THE OPTION of using swear words, then technically, if you were punished for using swear words in said game, you would NOT be punished for swearing, but be punished for merely playing the game. Example: If game developers added a fancy overpowered rocket launcher to Call of Duty, and you were lucky enough to acquire it... In your next match, you happen to be paired with a party of CoD developers. You single-handedly destroy their whole team with your new rockets and mad gaming skills. With the score 49-0, just before the last kill, they eject you from the match, and ban you from online matchmaking for twelve hours. So how can this be a matter of vulgarity, when the game itself is giving you the option to censor it? Just like everyone else, if Jeff is offended by "vulgarity", he has the option to turn it off. Maybe he doesn't know where the option screen is? At least he knows how to find the "Jail" button! So no, folks... I say this is a matter of Jeff's personal feelings. And therefore, I label this admin abuse. Example. You are a police officer. It is your job to serve and protect the people. You own a firearm. You are instructed to only use this weapon under severe situations. You are patrolling a city block. You come upon a woman with green hair. You think to yourself "Wow. She looks silly!" but you don't say anything, of course, because you are an officer of the law- not a barber... BUT SURPRISE! The woman also thinks you look silly because you have brown hair! SHE YELLS AT YOU- "BROWN HAIR SUCKS!!!"... You unholster your gun, and shoot her. Jeff just shot a lady with green hair. Learn to live with yourselves before you try to live with others. Kids seem to throw their morals and values out the window when they log online. To them, I say: Your conduct DOES MATTER. IT ALWAYS MATTERS... even if a few of us come out as pink bears, we all never stop being people when we cross into the digital realm. So I am here to suggest The MsBad Amendment. A basic right, and clear option for the public of Ol' West. To stop this admin abuse (as I have actually been caught in this myself once or twice). The options are simple: 1. Players are free to use the Swear Filter option, therefore allowing arguable language to be displayed or censored. Admins will have no right to punish, jail, or ban players for using this option, for it will not be offending players, as they are granted the option to make their own choice. 2. Ban swear words, racial slander, and all forms of vulgarity by removing the player's option to filter it. Censor all forms/leadings of known words in the game. If players are discovered using from the list of banned words, admins have all right to punish the player accordingly. This should be only black and white. No grey. What say you?

literally who also im about 85% certain the option to turn off the swear filter is broken, i turned it off because i dont really care and i still see censored words instead of the actual word |

--- Anyways I totally agree with this whole post especially considering the swear filter option and the topic of the first amendment. Also not to mention that west does not have a term of use or privacy policy when using the game so nothing specifically states they have the right in-game to violate it nor does it say anything about overruling the already put in place swear filter. I do believe this is a jail based on feelings because if one player were to say this to another player there would probably be less priority and probably a lesser chance of being jailed. However just for the sake of it I appreciate the work of admins and understand mistakes are made but this topic of vulgarity rules needs to be looked at closer. --- And also speaking of Ms Bad, I feel the reason she was jailed was bad but depending on the incident and how exactly it went down I do believe she could've been jailed for harassment or sexual harassment rather than vulgarity. |

Dude, Nightmare! A pleasant surprise. Thanks for your time and thoughts, man. Ultimately, I'm well aware that it's, at the end of the day, a silly game; but like I said, I too have been effected by this, and have had friends and other acquaintances right along with me. For the whole of two years, been scratching my chin about the whole subject. As for MsBad, I wouldn't condone her behavior in a professional setting, but off the record, I'm sure everyone knows that she really fuels an aspect of this game that no one else can- the party follows her, dude! Who knows how she has effected, even in the most minuscule amount, sales in this game. Making players keep playing. I may be out of line in this thought, but in her case, I'd step back and try to appreciate players like her a bit more. The same with GoldenMuffin... I HATE GOLDENMUFFIN... And he's EXACTLY why I keep playing this game! If Muffin didn't exist, tbh I would've quit long ago... Not saying I want any more like him xD but it wouldn't be West without him. Just like it wouldn't be West without MsBad. Just as if 5uicide 5quad wasn't here to get pounded by the big monopoly gangs, they'd all be sitting AFK in their base... and likewise, SS needs the monopoly to pound them, because if they didn't, then SS would be the ones sitting in a base, bored out of their skulls. I digress, but not far. Bottom line, we all need each other- we are West. I think the majority of these kids fail to see this over their own agenda. I don't see why Jeff, or any admin who is passionate about West, would want to alienate anyone willing to play it- especially over a personal issue. If I were an admin, and some kid kicked me in the shin, I'd brush it off- maybe even laugh with them. Who knows. I'd certainly refrain from having to keep a box of handcuffs around. As of right now, whenever a kid gets smack-mouth with me, I just ask them to spar. Seems to diffuse the situation pretty quickly. And now I digress. MsBad, technically, was jailed for "Vulgarity", which makes no sense, as if this were an actual offense, she would stay locked in a dungeon UNDERNEATH West's map lol. She wasn't filed under "Sexual Harassment", but if she was, that at least sounds a bit more credible... though even then, I don't find her to be, at all, a hostile person. 12h jail time of her battery. Unnecessary wear and tear on her device, and the energy it takes to charge it- all because someone has a case of the butt-hurts. |

You can expect to get banned for harrassment. Please don't tell me you're actually too stupid to understand that Jeff is a nice guy anyways so I don't see why you're wasting your time trying to "expose" or "shame" him This whole thread just makes you seem like a nutcase stalker |

Which is vulgarity in it's own as it was talked about in a negative manner from what I can understand from your post. The swearfilter being able to be disabled doesn't mean you're free to harrass or make vulgar statements about people, it's just an option so you can curse in a non-targetting way. Hopefully this has enlightened you and teached you something |
