Simple. Disable multitasking option in spars. Once warped into the spar arena, pausing/multitasking will not make you invulnerable. For SMS or phone calls, or something that pops up onto the screen without immediate consent, that would simply pause the person, making the person invulnerable until they come back. If anyone has any other recommendations, explain them and why they would work better than any other system.  

Disabling multitasking won't change anything. You can lock your iPod for the same effect.

You can't disable locking, that's native to the iPod and has nothing to do with Graal itself.

Locking isn't multitasking, and on my devices, it does not pause the game. Battery warnings and other pop up messages do pause it though.  

Would be an easy fix if it was possible.

Tested it multiple times with two separate iPods. For my 4th generation iPod, both multitasking and locking the iPod have the same effect. I assumed they both came under the same category. Battery warnings also pause for me.

Multitasking on my iPod 4 ends the spar at a loss for me. Battery warnings pause.
