I'm sure everyone has sparred someone at least once who has decided to pause when they're losing. It is incredibly annoying, and it has been going on for too long now. I propose that these people receive an automatic ban from joining any spar. Obviously there are some people who legitimately receive a 20% battery notice, so what I propose is something like a strike system:

• 1st time pausing = 15 minute ban from the spar.
• 2nd time pausing = 30 minute ban from the spar.
• 3rd time pausing = 1 hour ban from the spar.
• 4th time pausing = Banned for the day.

These strikes would reset daily, but if somebody has been banned several times they would receive much harsher punishments, whether it be a few days, a few weeks, or permanent exclusion from sparring. I believe with a system like this people will stop finding it acceptable to just pause whenever they feel like it. It will also mean that players who are not doing it on purpose will be more conscious about their battery life making it more fair for those who simply want to spar fairly.

I didn't consider phone calls or SMS, but at the very same time, these are not the fault of the person you're pausing on. If anything, the strikes could be adjusted to give you a capacity for how many you can get away with, but I personally have no pity for these people. If you're receiving multiple phonecalls or SMS messages don't spar.  

On Heroes of Newerth there's a leaver %. If you go over a certain % you are not allowed to play in ranked games and have to play unranked games (or games that allow leavers) until your % goes down. Sure you can get d/ced due to internet and such but that's still no reason for you to continue playing ranked games.

Same goes for here, if you're constantly getting "paused" in spars then you shouldn't be sparring to begin with should you?  

Also, there should be a spar ping max. Like 150 or so. Some people lag so bad in spar and then they say they have 5ms. Also, I usually have my ping 15-30ms.

150 is too low of a cap. People from Europe will have atleast 150 when sparring on iClassic. It's the people with over 350-400 that are a problem because they're actually lagging and not just far away from American servers. I'm not sure how high Japanese players ping, should ask.  

I know some people ping like 500 even. I once pinged 4500 at Battle Arena before GST. We shouls be able to check others ping.  

I asked the germans players for the ping nobody had under 150ms a few had 220ms
It depends on what provider they have and the internet cabel in the most big citys have 16k-22k kbs
We have only 6k kbs cabel and not the provider for gaming so i have always a ping from 180-220 ms

To begin with, the pausing that I'm talking about has very little to do with what you think I'm talking about. Secondly, even if I was talking about that, the script you provided wouldn't even work because "paused" isn't recognized as a guild, you'd use 'TServerPlayer.paused' instead. setlevel2() is also a serverside function and serverside can only run 0.1 timeouts. Last but not least, you are suggesting warping players out of the spar, which it already does, thus could probably use a little more insight into the problem that I'm talking about.

Maybe it should be changed to end the spar in a tie if someone pauses. You can always spar again afterwards. If someone is abusing by pausing multiple times, then report them. I'm sure it may be annoying, but I don't think an automated ban from spar is necessary.

I think tie wouldn´t be fair for the other one. If you pause your fault and you get a loose point and the opposit a win point.  

yea, that wouldnt work, people would do that whenever they are losing, and reporting doesnt work because when you respawn in the area they can run away into the crowd before you can tap on their profile, plus its not like reporting even works because your report just gets hidden among the spam
