Not going to start this stupid argument again, but the new cone hat looks better than the old one. Better than the one that was won by people accomplishing something. Sure makes sense.

That's where the problem lies, not the fact that its "different in design" (which, lets be honest it's a cone. You can't change the overall concept for a cone that much)  

You have to take into perspective the time period when it was made too though. I think the old cone is a testimony to your long time success as a sparrer while the new cone represents the stricter and more evolved graphics style classic adheres to.

imo, old cone looks far better. the color and shading on the new cone is awful.

The GST cone hat and the cone hat that was in presents are actually pretty different in shape and overall design.

The argument about that hat is way over
Leah admitted she was clueless that it was a GST hat - as well as another which was just 4 months prior (which really makes it seem like she doesn't care about the quality of them)

Her friends then proceeded to roleplay as staff for the next 10 pages, which is already what's happening in this thread

On topic though, I don't think we should hold it against iClassic staff for rehashing public hats and stuff like that… They should obviously do what they can to avoid remaking hats too similar to GST hats or other prize/exclusive hats though
For example, the latest news post specifically advertises these Bazaar hats as "limited time" and that can be interpreted two ways:

1. The sensible way: "We won't be remaking hats that are similar to this, so get them now!"
2. The "I'm a ****bag using a technicality but I'm still right" way: "We won't be remaking hats that are of this same lighting perspective and angle in the future, so get them now!"

I think it's beyond time to come up with new item types or prize ideas anyway, if the hat idea tank is so low that this is happening often then maybe it's time to do something else entirely

It's not even a petty callout though, unfortunately you did a better job of answering the concerns in that thread than she did - she continued to view it, just never thought it was worth responding to?

I remember when Coco was head of GFX staff (rather than an all-around developer, or whatever she is now), she'd actually participate in threads where people had concerns about too-similar 1k hats and stuff like that, and usually at the end of the thread everyone would leave either happy or understanding of her decision. I'm sure that wasn't a requirement, but it's a nice courtesy.

Leah's resolution to David's issue was one reply, some form of this:

"I don't pay attention to the GST. Also, the hat isn't exactly the same because I tilted it at this angle. Plus, even though I did something which could be easily resolved I'm not going to. Now enjoy my friends ridiculing you for being good at sparring and caring about GST rewards for the next 10 pages."

When it could have easily been this:

"Wow! Since I'm the head of GFX staff and I should probably know the GFX of this server inside and out, I should have realized that was a previous first-place GST hat! Had I known, maybe I'd have avoided remaking it with [insert technical detail here that prevents it from being an exact copy here] because it may bother the players who won it as a prize for an important event! I'm going to go make a significant change to the hat right now!"

Leah should just hire me as her publicist, I would make her and her graphics look amazing in the public eye as long as we're able to ignore all the hateful rumors about me ^_^  

"your post made sense and it was hard to reply to so now i'm going to beat my chest like a gorilla because i no longer hold myself to the standard of having an intelligent conversation"

There's nothing wrong with having more animal-themed ears. Tbh, as basic as it sounds, I'd like the gfx team to make a flower crown(like the one on Snapchat) or a leaf crown. I've only seen like 2 hats so far with the same theme, but I think the last one was made 2~3 years ago(?).

I think you're missing the point here, I pay money for gralats to purchase hats, as the person purchasing your product I have the right to be unhappy about the quality of items on offer.

If you want to see more creativity on the server, you could try making a list of ideas for hats that have not already been done before instead of complaining, I'm sure the graphics team would appreciate it.

Since you're so angry and passionate about this topic, I'm sure it won't be difficult for you considering you are the most creative person on this forum.

Like thallen brought up, why would the head of the gfx team not check the servers files to see if a hat similar to the one being reviewed has not already been made, it makes me question whether or not leah actually gives a ****.  

To be fair Thallen I understand where your frustration roots from and I would be upset if the same thing would happen to me. I agree with you when you say that Leah should have double checked to see if the hat already existed but I think you're kinda dragging this on a bit. What's done is done and personally I think they should have changed the hat the second something was pointed out, but then again if they did that then they would have to do that for a dozen of other hats and items that I'm sure people complained about during Christmas. However I think this is dragging on a bit and I think what's done is done. And I'm not trying to "role play" as a staff member, I'm giving you an actual response and I'm not trying to start anything. But again I think it's time to stop complaining about this and hopefully it doesn't happen again. Personally I think both sides handled the situation poorly and I don't really have a stance on this since I never wanted to be involved with it in the first place.

I don't understand how my post was ******ed? I actually gave you a legitimate reply that someone of the GFX team could have also easily given. Yes I was being a bit pissy but to be fair you set the tone of the thread and warranted that type of response. But again, if you want to see new and innovative hats on the server, I suggest making a list of your ideas and send them to a GFX staff (you could even post it here) and I'm sure they will appreciate it (I'm not being sarcastic when I say that).

As for the GFX thing I don't really know what happened with that since I don't talk to Leah at all anymore and since it was the holidays I didn't feel like contributing to the **** storm that the previous thread was.

Don't purchase it then?  

There are literally hundreds and hundreds of hats, and there is no 'quick lookup' to see if an idea exists. Making sure hat ideas don't exist depends mostly on personal knowledge of hats... So staff trying to remember hundreds of hats made over years of work and staff.

Also you're not being forced to buy these hats so you can easily just save your gralats for later purchases.

I'm not the one that brought it up. Slacky was the one posting about it in this thread. I replied to his comment, and from there Yog went into derail mode. Since then, not a single part of the post has been addressed.

Option #1 is what any reasonable person expects of a winning GST hat, and option #2 is what David got. Leah acknowledged it and didn't fix her mistake. It's not really an argument. Leah owned up to the mistake yet refused to fix it. Slacky shouldn't have mentioned it if people don't want me being honest and restating it.
