I remember you posting this a while ago, I still support it because this is the type of experience that Classic plays best towards. Graal is very casual and simple, and I don't think it needs to be complicated with new gameplay elements. I just feel like they could capitalize on the things we already have and make them a little more intricate and interesting. That's why I've been pushing for the whole guild remake thing a lot, I feel like that will create an entirely new experience without really changing how the game is played. Rufus expressed interest in some type of achievements system and I really wish Classic had that. Gaming and gaming culture in general has changed a lot in the past 10 years. We're basically robots who value statistics and bragging rights over some deep and immersive gameplay experience now. As in, if you were to simply break up baddy killing into additional statistics that show how many of each baddy type you've killed, you know there would be a bunch of people immediately interested in being "the #1 spider baddy killer" and such. I can actually recall several players quitting specifically because the all-time leaderboards were removed (although I do see the reasoning behind why that happened). That's proof that people care about that stuff and use them to set goals and make incentive for themselves to play and participate in the actual gameplay elements of Graal rather than just sitting around. An achievement system and a deeper statistics system would do well for iClassic. I don't really have much to say about the bullying thing, I feel like a fair amount of that already goes on. If I tab into my iClassic tab right now, there's probably someone getting laughed at in the BA lobby. It's probably just unavoidable due to the casual/social nature of the game. Anyway, I think this sort of thing offers an element of replayability that Classic kinda needs. The guild system, achievements, and more repeatable content (specifically repeatable quests for guilds, marriage partners, etc.) are probably at the top of my list of things I wish we had. The last two things that were added to iClassic that fall in line with that thought process were the treasure maps and Crab Chance. I feel like those did a pretty great job of adding long-lasting play value. |
