Just like Satanism seems to have different forms and versions (I'm not an expert though) Christian churches have different forms, and women's rights change, as do other factors (such as outfit expectations, way of reading through the bible, etc).

I go to a type of church that's very relaxed, and women and men are equal. Women pastors aren't as common as far as I've seen, but they aren't forbidden everywhere.

It didn't really escalate and no one was really insulting each other but criticized the religion, so there wasn't really a reason to close it yet I guess?

I learned a lot, didn't really take any of the things personal and kinda glad that my opinion about the bad stuff the church has done back then changed (thanks 2 cologne & cm&m's) so this was totally a good thread for me at least!

I didn't meant that those people would support the things they did, I meant as in support the church as it is of right now.
I think it's hypocritial to overlook the **** that has been done in the past.
It is wrong, and it should not ever be forgiven nor forgotten, its a religion and not a person. People change but that book doesn't and the things that this church did in the past is beyond cruel, dont you agree?
People don't forget any of the wars that happened, so why would anyone want to forget all the Witchhunts and the deaths of people who would believed in something else? Why would someone support a hypocritial church like that? Just because they're saying different things now makes you overlook the fact that so many people have died just because they didn't believe in the things the church has told them?

What you're saying makes no sense that you shouldn't support the church because it was corrupt before. You keep misunderstanding. The people only represent the church and religion, but the people don't define it. The Bible defines Christianity, nothing else. Just because people themselves abused the religion for their own gain, doesn't mean that's what the religion was actually about.

But don't let me derail this.  

People believe in god/religions simply because its drummed into them by family/even in education it's something you must hear about(well was in my school backintheday) Also people believe in god/religion as they need hope or belief in something-hence why alot of old people are the ones who go church etc..

So yeah thats my thoughts on why I don't believe in it..like as soon as you say to someone preaching stuff about god and your like 'I don't believe in it/him' they automatically like OMFG(oh wait no saying his name in vain)-omg why don't you believe! etcetc without any info or factual information to go off bar a book that was written thousands of years ago that could of been edited million times and probably multiple random story's(poor jim is now jesus).


If anything I more believe in science theories(even though im not particularly good at the subject/wasnt in school) but seems more believable.. but then again I really couldn't care less if there is heaven/hell or another galaxy with planets and life.. All theories even science stuff is just hopeful thinking wanting to search for an answer in the hope to have some reassurance that everything will be okay when you die.


Quick random true story: (cutting big life story out) but when I was 2 I was at the stage of life and death and I actually saw a man that wasn't real (I surmise now was figment of my imagination) and the guy just kept laughing and told me I wouldn't live past 21(IK sounds ridiculous because I was 2-but I can remember it like it was yesterday[even where I was etc-that I've correctly answered stuff about it to my parents later in life] he also said I'd go hell.. lmao but hey here I am 22 still alive and kicking.  

Well, the few quotes in the bible stating women shall not teach are in direct response to The Garden of Eden which is due to the fact God taught Adam but did not teach Eve who would later be deceived by Satan when he convinces her to eat the forbidden fruit, this made everyone think since God taught men then men shall do the teaching and the women shall not, but most of the textures against women are not taken seriously anymore and nobody really follows them.

Highly worth noting though that if you really look into it, man is at fault in this scenario and God too. He taught Adam and told him not to eat the fruit but when he made Eve he told her nothing which is why she was so easily deceived as she didn't know any better, Adam however did know better and ate it anyways because he chose his desire for Eve over what God said and purposely disobeyed him.

That's why I think this story is heavily flawed, God can't really be mad that Eve messed up because he never made an effort to guide her and all it shows is men easily give in against the will of God.

Most of the churches in my area don't even believe most of the stories and focus on the story of Jesus over everything (because he was real) and just teach people to be good and stuff.

I haven't researched it, but based on history, I'm going to assume that satanism (hundreds-thousands of years ago) did sacrifice people and all that other stuff that has labeled it what it is today. Your form of satanism is a branch off from the original, that has modernized. That's exactly what happened with Christianity too. Christians broke away from the catholic church because it was corrupt. They're currently (and have been) modernizing. Based on those assumptions, how could you support satanism, even if your version doesn't support human sacrifices, there is a version that does. That's what you're saying to us about Christianity.

As with Adam & Eve, they ate from the tree of knowledge, which introduced sin in the world. They basically were ignorant (and immune) to all the flaws & sin out there, but once they ate from that tree that they were told not to eat from, they introduced sin, disease, and much more into their world. You're seeming ignorant about Christianity the more you talk, but you keep saying what you believe to be true. "God throwing out his children" makes absolutely no sense, especially since God sent Jesus as his own sacrifice to forgive us. He sent Jesus to save us, which is hardly throwing his children away. It sounds like you simply dislike what God has (supposedly, for you) done, rather than just disbelieving all of it. Religion doesn't work that way. You can't simply take whatever parts you like and make your own religion based on that, and leave out all the bad parts. If a God exists, he has his own system basically, and you don't get to choose what you want to follow and what you don't.

If a God exists, he has his own system basically, and you don't get to choose what you want to follow and what you don't.

I actually learned a lot about satanism now. I had looked it up a little in the past and knew it wasn't what it's labeled to be, but I apparently didn't know near as much as I thought.

Assuming a God exists, you can believe whatever you want, but you would be wrong to believe anything else than what the God has put in place. For instance in Christianity, assuming it actually is correct, you can't choose what parts of it you like and which you don't. You would have to accept all aspects of the religion and take the good and the bad. You could believe whatever you want since you'd have free will, but if Christianity was correct, you would then be wrong to believe only part of it. So to answer the question more compactly, yes, you can believe whatever you want, but no, if there is a God, you won't be correct to choose what parts you believe and which parts you don't. It's hard to word this for me... hope that makes sense.  

This has been a very interesting discussion! I'm also glad I took part in it. I probably acted like a know it all, but ehh

I learned a lot about God, and heaven. I also learned a lot more about my own religion, which was nice.

Satanism literally promotes being a selfish piece of ****, not even a real religion imo. Just another form of a scene kid who never grew up.

If you don't believe in god, fine. Identify as an atheist then, otherwise I feel like you're just doing it to appear edgy.
