I robot, something i do not get.

So, after watching I, Robot last night i thought of something.

Around the middle of the film when Sunny/Sunni is drawing that picture with the robots and their 'saviour' he says the 'saviour' is Will Smith, but at the end it shows Sunny/Sunni as their 'saviour'. Does that have any significance?

Oh, and the film is great if you never watched it.

And like you, I did not understand the ending.
I asked several people about the ending, and no one understood it.
I do know that there are 2 endings to the movie (an alternate ending too), however the ending we saw was the original ending.
However I cant answer your question , I cant understand why Sonny would tell Will Smith that the person in his dream was him, when it was actually Sonny himself. I think there is a reason behind it, but I just cant figure it out. Sorry.. But overall its a great movie

The only thing i could think of was that somehow Will and Sonny were the same or had something inside them that somehow linked them, Will did have that robotic/prosthetic arm and could have had the same chip in that arm when he was given it, but thats too confusing.

EDIT: After going online i was only told that Will was the saviour but he had done his job, so the robots needed a new leader and so Sonny took the role.

Or something along those lines.

Great movie. Probably my favorite Will Smith movie along with I Am Legend

Anyway Sonny simply mistook the leader-guy in the dream to be Will Smith, and later realized that it was himself. Obviously the movie as a whole is about robots taking over the world. VICKY is a computer that [accidentally] evolved to have a more human-like mind. Sonny was intentionally created to be more like humans, so he could defeat VICKY, who led the robot rebellion.

When Sonny realized that he dreamed of himself, he attained a sort of self-actualization by realizing that he was created to lead the other robots.

It's not like robots can predict the future (although in the books some can). Sunny was just drawing his dream.

Depending on the level of the artificial intelligence there is probably some logical algorithm or something that could somewhat predict the future or events that might happen.

No but in the film Sonny says the saviour is will but at the end it showed will as the saviour.

Because the relationship he adapted with Will leads him to believe that.

He has no reason to believe the saviour would be himself and he doesn't think in a way where he places him self above others.
