Maybe some sort of slowdown (close to turtle mount's default speed) when you get to .5 hp.

Gets annoying PKing someone down to .5 and having them run away into a building or a pond

Though this might be annoying for players with <30 AP since they can't get back to above the threshold for slowdown without having to die or wait until they hit 31 AP.

Although it might not make much sense, it might be worth only applying the slowdown in pk zones to circumvent this problem at least to an extent. Another option might be removing the effect altogether once ap drops below 30.  

I feel like this would get extremely annoying extremely quickling.

Maybe when players have under 30 AP they get a speed boost that's equal to the slowdown effect, causing it to balance out at low health? It'd give an even bigger incentive to maintaining low AP.

Maybe so, but it does make sense that if you're low on health that your movement should be impaired, and that only if you're on some kind of rampage(represented by your ap) that you should be running on some kind of adrenaline cancelling out the effect. Of course, this is going into the more rpg territory which shouldn't be traversed if in order to try maintain a zelda-esque feel to the game.

It would ruin spar because in spar it would be so easy to get them down to 0.5 and kill them with ease

But curently at 0.5 they can finish you off if they have the skill so you cant predict anything

Well yes, spar would be left alone of course. I'm just talking overworld PK. Not even towers really.

overworld pk would be nice but as long as it doesnt happen in towers or spar.  

chasing the .5 is the best part about pkng. If you just want kills go spam the crowds like the rest of these "pk" noobs. What's next? remove suicide? as if this ******ed ap thing wasn't bad enough.
