The people have gotten more worse and desperate about the presents though.

I think there's just more of them. The poor ones who don't want to do anything in order to make cash in game and sit around burger refuge all the time...  

What happens if I log off while I'm in the exchange queue? Do I lose my present? I've been waiting for 20 min already (in the queue) and gotta leave soon...and still no present.

I don't think the system failed at all... players are just way too greedy. Yay Christmas.

It will still end up in your house, there's also a chance you may have missed the message.

Nah.

Consider a scenario in which you give a player a more expensive gift in exchange for a less expensive gift a "loss". Consider when you give a player a less expensive gift in exchange for a more expensive gift a "gain". For every player that gets a "loss", his trading partner will get a "gain". Thus statistically there will be an equal amount of "gains" and "losses" serverwide. From a theoretical standpoint the system is perfect because this equality should trickle down to the players who should have relatively equal amounts of "gains" and "losses". Sure, there's a little bit of chance involved on that end, but the system is sound.

maybe your focus should be more on the spirit of giving and less on what your are receiving. then maybe you won't feel like you or anyone is getting scammed.
