Im going try to build a computer and i have figured out what parts im getting.
please leave suggestions about different parts that are better or cheaper. My price range is $0 - $800.

It's all good, just checked it all out. To make it cost less, instead of going for windows 7 I'd rather just save money when you can and go with Ubuntu. If you don't have the time to wait and check out the free os then you can just go ahead and buy the Windows 7. This is just me but you can really go find a better case. It seems small to my eyes.  

Your ram is a bit overkill, 8 GB is already more than enough on a gaming computer, the only time you really need more RAM is if you're running a server or something. 16 GB isn't really necessary IMO, you won't see any real improvement in performance over 8 GB unless you have like 80 tabs of google chrome open at once or something. You could probably even get away with 4 GB of ram, but 8 GB is pretty safe and future proof in my opinion.

I usually run servers when i game with friends but i was thinking of downgrading the ram

How many people do you usually have in your game when you host a server? If you're only hosting the game for a few friends(less than 16 or so), you should be ok with 8 GB of ram, but if you're hosting something larger like say a highly popular minecraft server, you might want more ram.

For gaming purposes the i5 scores better or on par with AMD's FX-8350 (which generates twice as much heat, and uses more power).

R280X is a 7970, which is a top tier card. The Nvidia equivalent is a GTX 770 / 680.

Yea 8 gigs of ram should be fine, the only limiting factor would probably be your bandwidth(internet).

alright  

Use pcpartpicker.com when putting together a rig. It is stupid easy to use.

• Has a compatibility checker to keep you from buying parts that don't work together.
• Has a combo finder that can find deals for the parts you are already looking into buying. IE your video card and your ram are in a combo at newegg. Out of stock... but still.
• Saves system builds for comparison and tweaking later on.

Pretty sure you don't need 16 gigs of ram to run Crysis 3 maxed. You'd be better off buying a better cpu or gpu(the GPU FP4 mentioned is top of the line, the cpu is mediocre) than paying for 16 gigs of high performance RAM.

I'm not gonna argue with fp4 though, he's far more experienced than me and knows what he's talking about much better. If he says something that is different than what I say, he's most likely right.
