Don't diss Alfred Hitchcock. Also I don't think you need to throw insults like that, you made yourself look stupid.
Modern entertainment has desensitized us with all the violence and gore we see. Back then in the 70's, 80's people never saw that kind of stuff and it really did give them some scares. I watched all the remakes of the movies I just named off and none of them are scary at all. Actually they're all pretty much garbage. The Nightmare on Elm Street remake was probably the best of them though. The Human Centipede is a glorified shock video. So is Saw. Nowadays the only thing scary is shock scares with overly loud music/sound effects with the scary monster face flashing on screen. Which imo is a cheap tactic and not true horror. |

I don't like old movies. Watched 28 Days Later... a week ago. IMDB ratings said it's one of the best zombie/horror movie of all time, but it was boring in my opinion. Yea, it might have a decent story, but there's was barely any horror whatsover.

Insidious was pretty creepy. Though it did have a few jump scares. And the ultra mega jump scare that I'll never forget. My sister said Sinister was pretty scary. I also watched Mama and its full of jump scares. |

The Messengers. Messed me up when I was little, not sure how bad it would be to someone older. Theres this other movie from when I was little, was an Asian film, about a ghost or something. Ghost was in the title. Finally, scariest to me, The Orphan. That, ****ed me up. Big time. Really big time. Can't stand the name Esther anymore. Like, no. That movie screwed with me.

I love Orphan. I haven't mentioned it because I always thought of it as more of a suspense/thriller movie than horror. Solid film though and definitely creepy the first time. if you wanna see something scary watch this |

I cba to watch Sinister. I've been told it sucks. I also saw Mama a few weeks ago. Pretty good story and amazing acting imo. As you said, it has very good jump scares, and the sinister atmosphere was very well done. |

"The Omen" was hard for me to watch. "Children of the Corn" was also pretty scary for me. Oh and let's all not forget PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.

Orphan just got to me. I can't stand to think about it, it's just got something. I'm really looking back at how poor a choice it was to watch it. Imagine if that was real, a old psychopath that looks like a 10 year old? F#ck me that's just cruel. The Omen's were all plenty good. |

There are also some good asian horrors out there if you're interested: Shutter (2004) A Tale of Two Sisters (2003) Ring (1998) Dark Water (2002) |
