I try, sometimes pm volume makes it almost impossible but yes, we should that frequently.

When I was PR I always gagged the racist player and if they continued they got jailed for 30 mins. But after I took these actions a few times I was reported for "abuse" of power. When in reality I was just doing my job. So in the new PR defense they probably are scared to act, you can always get reported and boom fired.

Truth. People weren't afraid of a 30 minute jail time when I was a staff or gag time as well. Once it ended they just started again and again. But you see what I did was double the time each time for repeat offenders. half hour, hour, two hours, four hours, etc. People said I was strict/cold but they deserved what eas coming to them. If you don't learn once you aren't going to learn the second time. I let em know I meant business and people didnt like that. I got warned due to that by snk and was told I wasn't supposed to increase sentance times. If you ask me people who knowingly and willingly commit these offenses deserve all the time they get.  

you could just ignore it, i know racism is a horrible thing but is it really that hard to ignore them? if it gets out of hand , yes then contact pr, or hell any admin.

Era is a 9+ game. What good are 9 year olds learning in a game where racism has reached to such an extent. I believe harsh punishments should be given to the people with such dirty mouths. First of all, racial abuse reports need to be taken seriously and to be acted upon as soon as possible. The punishments shouldn't just be a gag, but a possible jail time of starting from even 30 minutes, as they will realise it is wrong, and will learn there lesson.

Well John, I really cannot comment on that situation besides sharing my opinion that although I do not condone it, it happened a long time ago and there is such a thing as people realizing the error of their ways and changing. Especially at our ages and developing maturity levels.

If staff really believe that the iEra playerbase is mature enough to move past their mistakes and racial slurs, then the game should have the maturity rating go up to ensure that a more mature audience is playing the game to prevent falsification of your claim. An ideal 9+ multiplayer game means that staff should have the responsibility and diligence in order to deal with most harassment problems such as racism, harassment, and general immature insults. A 9+ game is for children, and children need to be babysat most of their maturing days, whether it be by teachers, friends, or parents.

As for jail time, you basically need to push the immature playerbase basically into a corner for a tme-out for an hour or so, then let them come out to see if their lesson is learned. Banning is like grounding them too.

This is an idealistic MMO environment in terms of discipline and punishment for the ages ranging from 7-10 years old, with 9 being the average due to the apple rating. If you want to have an ideal MMO for kid where your cheating their money off like stefan wants, make a god damn teletubbies or sesame street MMO then, not a gangster game where your shooting people up and blowing things up by hitting someone with your car. If you want a more mature audience, then raise the age minimum to at least 12+, it is both more appropriate and better suiting the claimed maturity of the audience we have on this forum and on the active, contributing sector of the game.  

Not everyone will learn. Regardless of punishment level, sometimes people are just too stubborn to give in and accept that it was their fault for racism. As long as Era has young players, there are going to be some who are immature and find the silliest of excuses to back themselves up, or for just plain humor. It's sad that not everyone learns from their mistakes. They just don't care.  

I don't see why you guys blame players 100% of the time. It's a game really, if you go on xbox, you get in a game it's all trash talk even the e rated games. This game isn't really 9+ thats the rating not counting online interaction. I think the staff needs to stop beig racist first. I can name at least 5 staff members who I have seen/have pictures of being racist between izone and iera. If you want to stop racism don't hire staff who will make gang names as "kkk".

Yeah, he's right. For some reason though, its been getting more abundant. Some of the younger crowd shouldn't have to watch and learn racist slurs just because someone ended their streak.
