Sometimes when I play a game for so long I get tired of reading the text and just want to get to the action parts. I will most of the time read the text, but after so much I tend to skip.

I enjoy reading the dialogue because I feel like I know the story more and it would make more sense to me.

I love reading dialogue in games, I look forward to learning more about characters/the story. In Graal, I still like running up to NPCs and reading about their thoughts, but I'm less enthusiastic about it than I am when I read Persona 4 Golden dialogue. It would be interesting if Graal developed more unique NPCs with rememberable personalities, and gave different perspectives of recent updates on Graal, or other tips/hints.

It depends entirely on the game and how much I am interested in the story in the first place. If I'm playing a more action-oriented game then I will skip through dialog, typically. If I'm playing a game that's story-oriented, but I find the story weak or uninteresting I will probably skip dialog as well. Generally a game has to tell the story pretty damn well for me to bother reading while I'm playing. If it's text-based(ie no cutscenes with voice-acting) I just can't sit and read for 20 minutes or so. I can't. I'd rather go online afterwards and read about the story there. So not every game dialog interests me the same. Most of the time I just want to get on and play the actual game. The longer the text goes on, the less I'm interested in reading(and more like I will be to just skip text entirely the next time). |
