So my birthday is around and my desktop is bad now and It can't even run a simple game like minecraft. My budget is $350-$550. I know what you're thinking,I probably can't get **** for that. But at least something that can run steam games and minecraft,not flawlessly but bearable. If anyone can help me out that with this,I would appreciate it.

Like a desktop or a laptop?I mean,I'm a computer guy,but not a genius,I've never built my own. Also is it within my budget,if so you'll have to link me to the parts.

Also, just go with what Shawn (Doctor) said, go build one. Gaming laptops are in the $800+ range.

Laptops typically aren't built for gaming, and they are generally much more expensive than a desktop of equal build. While you could get a decently capable desktop for $400, even capable of playing many games(my own PC was built for only $300 years ago, and prices have only dropped. While I can't play new games, it's surprising what it CAN play.), a laptop for $400 will probably only be good enough to browse the web and play youtube. With a laptop most of the money goes towards the fact you're buying a portable PC, not power.

At the end of the day, a budget laptop is not going to play any games, not even flash games or Minecraft(at a decent framerate). Gaming laptops are a very specialized build and will be very expensive(it all comes down to dedicated graphics card, and laptops tend to have integrated). If you're working with a very limited budget and want to game, you will need to go desktop, and if you really want to get your bang for your buck, build it yourself.  

Buy a used one at GameStop.  

Alienware laptops are 100% best place to go. They range around 2000--1000$ but its worth it . I would not recommend getting a toshiba or a dell . Don't get a laptop notebook . That's all I have to say

Alienware's are extremely overpriced. Also, dell owns alienware.

@ dusty my 2 year old laptop i got for $400 runs gw2 and tera on lowest settings smoothly, and less graphically intensive games like HoN and LoL on high settings at 60 fps. It can also run tf2 and vindictus maxed out at 30 fps.  

I have an alienware laptop. Honestly, you are pretty much paying for the light-up keyboard. It is a good computer and all, but for the price you pay for it you can get a much better laptop  

Laptops in general have bad price-performance ratios, let alone gaming brand laptops. I would go for a custom-built desktop computer - you can build a decent one in the $500-$600 range. It wouldn't be playing games like Crysis 3 at full setting at a clean, uninterrupted framerate, but it will perform most games well with acceptable performance - far, far better than a laptop.  

Okay! So i can build a gaming desktop for around $300-$550?! That sounds great. I shall do that,but I'll need some help.
