There is so much stupidity in this thread that the most intelligent post I've seen so far is Higbey's. Didn't think intelligent and Higbey were two words that worked together. People in admin guilds get hired because they know admins. That's it.

You can take your opinion somewhere else if you've just come to call people stupid. You know nothing about the hiring process.

I'd rather they hire by application. It's fairer and gives more people a chance. Who knows? They might actually find that they get better-qualified people by application than just choosing from guilds...

They don't just hire people on a whim, even if you're reccomended you have to send in an application and be interviewed.

Ah. Even so, it does seem to improve your chances if you're in a staff guild.

Well, yes because staff know you and they know if you're mature or not, or qualified

It still doesn't seem fair. There are people who are better-qualified but they don't have a chance because the staff don't know them.

Well that's just sort of the way it works. They can't hire you if no one knows you exist. I'm sure they hire some applicants solely based on their application and interview if they have the skill, but it's really hard to determine if they would make a good staff member when you don't know them at all.

The problem is that they don't give it a try. They rely solely on what the staff member who's hiring says.  

If you want to be an admin go join Cruxis or Magic because if you look at the staff list that's where over half of them came from.

I don't think it's you're place to judge whether an opinion is "needed" or not, it's an opinion.
