Maybe you can keep the damage the same up close but the more the range, the more the damage falls.

I think the damage reduction but I guess the other one would work just as well.

The PBP was released before a major update to shotguns was applied. Before the update, only one bullet was able to hit someone. Damage per bullet was reduced to counter the new change, but it's entirely possible that the gun is still overpowered. So it's definitely a good idea to try some changes to it. Yes, players may have bought it only because it's so powerful. However, iEra's currency is not a real form of legal tender, and we reserve the right to change the game as we see fit. The changes we make are for the benefit of the majority of players. If you feel you are entitled to an overpowered weapon just because you bought it while it was overpowered, I'm sorry, but it's not possible. Refunds cannot be given either. I wish we could always release things in a balanced way, but unfortunately for everyone, we are volunteers, not paid professional game devs. We make mistakes, and we hate messing up the game just as much as you hate it when we do that. |

If anything, experience from era PC would be enough to develop weapons, balance them and be consistent. I'm not saying the staff of today consists of PC devs, but I feel those mistakes must have been made before... Back in 2005 or whenever era came out. (not sure really.) It seems that these "mistakes" are being made on a game that is on it's second release. Or, third if you count PC, iPhone and FB. |

We do test weapons before releasing, and we usually do a decent balancing job. In this case, it was a post-release update which pushed the weapon to be OP. I would like to make it clear that if it was my decision, refunds or compensation would definitely be made. I've only posted saying that it won't happen because I have doubts that such a large scale refund would be approved by Stefan. |
