i feel like you're stating that islamic nations oppress homosexuals because of their religion; many countries oppress/ban/enforce capital punishment upon homosexuality (including Russia, Guyana, Swaziland, etc.) because it is presumed as morally wrong or unnatural
i may be wrong since i don't know the exact laws of islamic countries

I'll spare you another long post and just provide the example that it's punishable by torture and sometimes even execution to be either gay or an atheist in Saudi Arabia. Here's a pie chart of the ethnic and religious make-up of SA (
source):
When a country is 100% Muslim due to the fact that they'll kill you if you aren't, I think it's a safe assumption that religion runs deep in their government.
The Bible isn't kind to gays either, but that falls in line with the whole argument that Christianity is steadily evolving along with the world. For example,
Pope Francis openly stated that gays and transsexuals need to be accepted within the church last year. To my knowledge, you don't see this sort of outreach and pressure for change by Muslim leaders.
On a side note, as I typed this to you:
Martial law declared in Southern Philippines, ISIS-linked Islamists take priest and churchgoers hostage, beheading civilians

A Catholic priest and churchgoers have been taken hostage by ISIS-linked militants attempting to seize control of a city in the Philippines, while the local police chief has been beheaded.

She's a teenage girl making records and songs

She's 23. A lot of people ITT make it out to be that she's a teenage girl whose capable of doing nothing in the world other than making pop songs. That's kind of patronizing…
