Graal
The more staff work for free on graal, the less unixmad will care about us.

I wonder how many people were promised to be paid when doing work for Graal by Unixmand but never were. I don't know how this game doesn't get sued more often.

I see it as a double edge sword. On one side you are providing people with experiences in different fields and creating a grassroots community, on the other its an asshole who only cares bout money.
|
Yeah hone your skills as a developer on this ****ty game so you can move on to a better game and make some real $$$.
|
Start off doing what you do on Graal, develop your talents on the sever for awhile. Move on to something bigger and better later on.

Graal isn't an internship. I can't even speak anything here about the truth of this game without posts being deleted, but FYI, there is no reason in the universe why developers should not be making money

Without all the volunteer staff Graal would not have had the support to be able to still be alive. Graal is possibly the longest running MMO online ever. It was originally one of the first MMO's with graphics ever created and populations has increased massively too since the last 5 years. (Well over 1000%). The potential is still very much there as it's always been.
Unfortunately it's lack of focus, direction, appreciation (to staff and players alike), and service from the ownership has kept it from a faster growth imo. Nonetheless I'm proud and happy with how far its come, regardless of what some other respected original players might say. Also many players who don't volunteer their time as staff however take the time to provide detailed suggestions and sharing their ideas helps tremendously to continue to see a progressive development. Personally, I'd like to say thanks to the entire Graal team (current and past) and players for your contributions and support. No one is perfect but continue to strive to do better and it'll just happen. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year! <3 |

I'm not going to doubt that you could develop a game for $50k. However I don't believe you would do better than unixmad, in my honest opinion. Primarily because I think you'd be a challenge to work or communicate effectively/productively with. I would have rather seen Brett running Graal back then. Although he would only say "no" and "shut".. oh of course there'd be the occasional "nini ugly".
