Graal Client Help

Okay, so I've been trying to redownload the Graal client for sometime now. I've tried numerous things, yet nothing has happened and or helped me to redownload the client.

I believe the issue is the fact that I already had the client installed on my laptop, then am now trying to redownload it again. Before I deleted the client, it wouldn't open upon me clicking on the program, so basically I was unable to even open it (it wasn't always like this, when I first had it downloaded, it ran normally). So to resolve this issue, I had thought to just delete it, then reinstall it. I don't recall how I removed the program, all I know is that I must've done it incorrectly? May have shredded it, or ran an uninstaller, but I'm not sure.

Now the actual problem is when I download the GraalSetup. The GraalSetup just isn't downloading. I believe it may not be creating the folders or something on its own, due to me doing something to the originals? I don't know. But when I install and launch GraalSetup, the normal Run button appears. I press, and wait. Nothing happens and the download doesn't continue for some reason.

I'm not entirely sure what to do anymore. I've ran it as administrator, I went in and deleted the Registry, I renamed it to Graal.exe and put it in its own folder, but nothing has worked.

If anyone knows how or what to do in order to fix this, please helpppp. I think computer specs are needed in some cases so I'll just put them here anyways.

Computer Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium (Service Pack 1)
Processor- Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2250 @1.73GHz 1.73GHz
Installed Memory (RAM)- 1.00 GB
System Type- 32-bit Operating System
(I don't even know what any of this means, just that it's a piece of ****)

Disable your anti-virus if you have one and make sure your computer's time is set correctly.

Make a Graal folder in C:\Users\Public and put GraalSetup.exe in the folder then rename it to like Graal6.exe or something else.

iMask 06-15-2014 08:26 PM

Delete ALL traces of Graal Files from your computer.

1. After uninstalling, search for graal on your computer and delete those. Empty your recycle bin

2. After you have done that, go to run, and type in regedit.exe. You will see a bunch of registries. Go onto users > Software, and remove all Graal registry files.

yeahh did that already. I have GraalReborn downloaded as well so that complicates things when deleting Graal traces.

Do you ever defrag your registry?

God dammit lol. I said not to run Registry Defrag D: That could be the problem. Thankfully it creates a backup by default meaning that if that's the source or the problem you should be able to go back to before you ran it, I can help you out over TeamViewer tommorow if you want, not near my PC right now and I can't remember how to do it off the top of my head.

I had Advanced Systemcare 7. Ruined half of my computer, with applications that can't open after the installation with SystemCare 7, such as iTunes crashing, Skype not opening. I still haven't found a solution to date. It may have affected your Graal Client.

What does the computer's time have to do with anything?

Probably some whacky feature Stefan implemented to stop people trying to cheat or something. Stefan's full of cheap hacks.

My graal clients runs well... Expect when I saved a graal level I just made, it won't save it as well...

he might have meant more or less the date / year...

Example...If your computer is set to 6/16/2008, trying to open a browser such as Chrome results in an error.

I'm pretty sure what Graal does IS classified as a virus. It watches over your session. If you type cheat engine in google or open a folder named cheat engine, you'll get disconnected immediately and a notice is sent to everyone's RC.

Or at the very least a root kit.

Er, no. Graal just looks through running processes and tries to identify anything that might look suspicious. You don't even need any special privileges to do that kind of thing :3

hosler 06-16-2014 06:35 PM

Try connecting to the internet first

Phantos 06-16-2014 06:42 PM

Well these are all very interesting solutions, but I downloaded the installer and had it extract to a dummy folder. I then zipped up said folder and placed it here for you, kenovo: http://www.valikorlia.com/Graal.zip

Extract that folder anywhere you like and give it a run. Graal is actually a very simple program for the PC, I don't think your issue has much to do with registry or multiple installations of Graal.

Distorted 06-16-2014 06:59 PM

Who cares about the client, its dead anyways.

I had the same problem before, fp4 gave me a ZIP and it still didn't work. You could be right though, not too sure what the problem is exactly.

It doesn't. It looks at window titles and process names.

If you search 'test' on Google your window title will change to 'test - Google Search'.

Which is somewhat common, though some other anti-cheat methods are way more invasive. I think there was an article recently about the lengths that VAC(which is what Valve uses to protect their servers) snoops around to find cheaters.

hosler 06-17-2014 02:41 PM

You use to be able to send a link to someone and force close their client.

I don't know. Call me crazy but I'm fine with Valve being a bit more invasive. They're well known and established, where Graal on the other hand was, is and will always be relatively unknown and can get away with more before being caught.

Hmmm, it broke or won't open again. Idfk what's wrong with it x.x

Phantos 06-19-2014 07:09 AM

Could your antivirus program be flagging the executable files and deleting them? Do you have anything like that which "cleans" your PC?

I run/have ran 'cleaning' program(s), and have a few times after redownloading it. So, this may be the case. How do I fix it though?

kenthefruit 06-24-2014 11:41 PM

Still broken ;--;

fp4 06-25-2014 03:13 AM

Reinstall Windows and don't use stupid registry cleaners/compacters or other 'optimizer' programs that don't do anything.

If you have more than one anti-virus program running in the background you should uninstall them until you just have one running.

Phantos 06-25-2014 10:05 PM

Indeed! Antivirus products are resource hogs enough as it is, but they also constantly step on each others toes. I used to run a lot of registry cleaners and the like in order to squeeze out every ounce of power from my old machines, so I know the feeling and the reason behind it all, but it can do more harm than good.
