I thought Bam would jump on the pillow-shading of the top, white part of the hat. Guess not :P
I for one like it, it's unique. Not something you see all the time, or ever, lol. You have two different shading styles going on here, fix that up and you should be good to go. Lookin' forward to the finished product. And if you want it uploaded I'd suggest removing your initials ;) lol |

Instead of rushing your work in a fast state, try going very slow and looking at shading tutorials while you make it. Caps are actually quite challenging to work with as you have to worry about depth and shadow. I would recommend making an upright hat such as a ballroom hat, Dr. Suess hat... or well.. anything that stick up.
Work on that shading. Professional shading will be really hard at your level but if you use gradient and some alternating depths and shine it will look nice. Your first hat was ok for a first shot. Your second isnt impressive, you need to spend alot of time on shading. What actually could help is putting a hat against a light shade where it looks cool and then sketch it on computer (i do this alot). It can guide where shading will look good and you dont have to start from scratch. Also, my last tip is stop making logos and words. They dont fit well and... just dont lol. Good luck with other creations! I hope you follow some of the experienced pixel artists here advices, they really can help you! |
