this is a dumb question and probably easy to answer... but....
i wanted to make a tekkit server, too. just for me and some friends to destroy, explore, and screw around. but i downloaded the technic thingy, clicked launch and it errored. i fixed the error to run my java, and it started. it made all the server files and things i need, and ran the mods it had. but when i tried to log in to the server, it disconnected instantly.
sooo.....
im running 3.1.2,, and using hamachi. am i missing a step? please help. thanks

also.. when i try to run technic launcher, it just said cannot find java directory. maybe thats whats wrong but how can i fix that error?  

What you downloaded was the Technic client. What you're looking for is the Tekkit Server which is found on the same website.
Also Hamachi is horrible, requires others to log in to Hamachi to log into your server.  

With your java error. You need to download the latest version of java. If you have the latest version and the problem continues, instead of download it for windows/mac/etc. download the .jar version and it should work. i hope this helps  

have you port forwarded?  

with hamachi u dont need to port forward, thats why i use it. ive tried many times to port forward before but it never worked.
i use hamachi because its a server only for me and some friends.
im pretty sure i have the most up-to-date java, but ill go check right now.
i already have the technic server, as i said before because it made the files and everything. i know it works, but the problem is technic launcher..

i read somewhere to run launcher with java, but theres no option to run with or open with. should i put the launcher in a different folder, like a specific one?

update: im running java 7 update 5. does it matter if its 32 or 64 bit?
