The Reason You Can't Quit Graal
Face it, you've tried at one time or another. Have you been successful? Well, since you're reading this, probably not. Why is Graal so addictive? Why can't we quit? Well actually, let me explain the psychological side of things and group the types of people/audience that Graal appeals to. First off, Graal brings back memories from our childhood. Not just because it represents Zelda: A Link To The Past. But because a lot of role-played as children. Such as little girls and boys who used to play "house". Dress up, have their little treehouse, pretend to cook, be who they wanna be. It may not seem like it, but this plays an important role in many peoples reason for playing. Subconsciously, of course. Second, Graal allows you to be independent. Your own person. Its not a roleplaying game where you choose from pre-made characters, you get to grow yourself, your social status, change your look, and even submit your very own looks to make it even more personal. Being independent, we feel in control and being in control is "possessing" something. Making Graal one of our possessions, very hard to let go of. It grows on you. Ask the old-timers. Third, for Classic, there's not much change. But that gives people an adrenaline rush when there is change. For Era, there is constant change which keeps your blood pumping, which is essential for the fast-paced style of Era. Conclusively, Graal is like FaceBook, interactive. There are real people, real-time interaction, real connections, real friendships, etc. This gives you an emotional connection, along with the possessive personality. You may be able to quit for some time, maybe months or years at a time, but everyone will come back to it eventually. Whether in their thoughts, memories or on their iDevices/PCs. I once got arrested and rushed to the hospital (don't ask). I was in the waiting room with the police officer who happened to ask me what I did in my spare time. I told him I liked to play games, so he asked me what kind of games. I said "Graal" and he knew exactly what I meant, cause he too played Graal when he was younger. According to him, the dating and babies still existed back then...I hope for a better future at least. |

I liked that informational piece especially the part with the cop that was pretty cool although no way to prove it's truth...

Your lying about the cop. IPhone graal hasn't been out that long, and I doubt he was one of the few players on it back then. Plus back then on pc graal there weren't baby's and dating and crap like that. At least not at all like in iPhone graal. This cop would also need to be young to have been able to play pc graal when he was a kid.

I've never tried to quit. I know I'd be back in record time.
babies and dating have been around since the start of it, too, just not as many. The cop coulda been like... 30? and graals been around since like 1990 something. It's possible eitherway, just unlikely |

Graal is easy to quit, and there are many ways. 1) Hold down the Graal icon until the little "x" apears in the corner, tap it and press yes. 2) Delete all screenshots of Graal. 2a) If that doesnt work, pour water over your iDevice. 3) Never think about it again and get some sun. For PC players... 1) Uninstall Graal from your computer. 2) Delete all history of browsing Graal forums, and images/levels, etc. from your computer. 2a) If that doesnt work, throw your waterlogged iDevice at your computer screen. 3) Empty recycle bin. 4) Get some fresh air. |

Graal Classic is boring, lazy, and so far in awful development (Really slow awful development... Face the truth). The game is now focused towards the cash market as always and makes players slice their body everyday due to the high amounts of wanted cash... It'll never be missed or it'll never be played by me for a very long time... Im not gonna stay on that game at all... Glad i've quit now -Graal Classic gets Messed up people emotional... And therefore stay on the game for such "BS" emotions towards pixels... Yes, if you're emotional to pixels, you have some serious issues my friend... -Cause most of the players date, marry, and pretends to be babies in the game... Which leads again to the following reason above -It does not bring back any memories of Link to the past (and that game can be played on an emulator or buy the game for about 5-20 bucks). I've known more people that complain how its nothing to Zelda other than the basics. -The only people that come back on Graal are the idiots who stays up all night waiting for their bans to be released and do the same thing all over again -Independent? Lies! If you gonna try to look independent, follow it up with around 50 people stealing your custom pixels... And the admins ain't gonna give a damn about that because they say its called "Sharing" If i said something you already said, then sorry for skimming it... But one question... Why the hell did we make a graal forum then!? And hell, i was successful... Graal Classic is easy to quit if you got A better game to play like Mortal Kombat, LBP2, Call of Duty, Super Mario, Skyward Sword at its release and alot more better games... Seriously, who the hell gets addicted to this game? I've never seen such an addiction like this ever since drugs were introduced to the world... All i do now for Graal Classic is discusses ideas on how to make it Not Boring!

The cop bit is actually 100% true. I don't know about America, but our police system you can get a job at about 20. I'm guessing he was 24 by the looks of it. He told me about how he builds and repairs computers and plans on running a water system through one of his PCs to keep it cool. And the reason I was rushed to the hospital is because I accidentally cut myself with this knife and our phone was down "during Christmas, cuz we were too busy buying presents for the 10 kids to pay the bill". Anyways, phone wasn't working, so my ex from Alberta called the police for me from halfway across Canada. Idk why the hell she called the police and not the ambulance, but I was rushed to the hospital which is about an hour away, got asked if I did drugs, if I cut myself intentionally, all that stuff. We waited about 2 hours literally for the nurse. So while we were in there, this police officer talked to me about Graal, Starcraft and Zelda. He's like "Graal was for us players who couldn't afford or go out and buy the actual Zelda". He goes "there was this snowy place in one of the top corners, right?" and I'm like yeah, snow town. And then he goes "wow, that brings back memories...people used to date on their and pretend to have children and babies". And if you don't believe me, call the Middleton Royal Canadian Mounted Police and ask for Derek. I'm too lazy to supply you guys with the number. EDIT: you can even ask my ex about her calling the police for me. Not like I care about giving out her email lol or her phone number, but she's a cranky b**** (excuse the language) and you will have to hear her rage on about me getting her grounded last Halloween lol |
