The Original MIDI Files
Does anyone noticed how un-quantized the original Graal MIDI files are TERRIBLY arranged in terms of timing? I was just actually so bored I was going through them in my DAW, quantizing all the tracks and reexporting it into my Graal/levels/music folder. Has the Graal team even considered fixing this or just getting new background music MIDIs? Maybe from a more advanced producer? Attached is a Graal backing bongo loop with click track on the correct tempo: Listen close! |

I think you're the first one to complain, that being the case there's no need to fix it as the undiscerning ear wouldn't even hear the difference.

A revamped version of the original sounds, similar to how they revamp music for SSB games, would be really, really cool.

Of all the things that need fixing with those MIDIs, I feel this is probably low on the list.

I think the sounds as an entirety need to be reinvisioned. Many have potential, and have some catchy bits, but are poorly composed so overall make the ears bleed. It'd be nice to hear someone rewrite them properly and keep the same feeling/reference the originals.

Seems like an odd reason to bump a thread, but I'd like to point out that most (if not all) stef## midis were computer generated. A small group of us here (friends, roommates, what have you) have recently re-opened our search efforts to find the program with which they were generated, but not so much luck yet. We've been looking for answers on and off for years now, but maybe someday we'll discover it.
