Graal Depot Opinions
What are your guys opinions on Graal Depot? Should there be punishments? I just read Zyko's post (Graphics Stealers) and I was wondering about everyone's thoughs on Graal Depot. I always see graphics stolen because of Graal Depot, do you have any ideas or thoughs about this?

I don't like how they post people's work on there without permission. That's disrespecting the artist who made it. You can request to have a custom removed, but there is always a re-upload of the same custom later on. They also give away the secrets and places like a cheat guide which a lot of games have, but it's best for players to find these secrets themselves and ask for help or hints on some parts if needed. If they are told where it is what's the fun of finding it? They give credit to the Graal Viewer creator at the very bottom under the video where it's harder to find. My opinion on the site is a big thumbs down.

Punishments? All uploaded graphics are property of Graalonline! Asking for permission is respectful and nice but you can't be punished if you didn't ask for permission. Admins have said it enough times already... "We can't do anything about it." |

In the words of NYN: http://www.thecampussocialite.com/wp-content/uploads/stop-complaining.jpg (Unsupported image host) It honestly doesn't matter that much. Besides, you can always just watermark your graphics. |

The majority of the 'content' is taken from this forum which I'm not fond of. It's like they constantly lurk the forum for things to post on their site, but don't even bother to contribute here in any way. Sharing is caring though, I guess.

If you upload something, someone will put it somewhere whether you like it or not. That can't be fixed.

Actually graal depot does ask permission and give credit for a few things. A representetive from there contacted me and asked me if they could use my guides; they said they'd give me full credit. Although, I'm still not too fond of their service but there really isn't anything we can do about it :l.

Ban the players that own the sites, tell them they will be unbanned when they take it down, problem solved. People will stop making sites for that when it becomes bannable. For those saying sharing is caring, tell me your credit card info so I can go buy stuff with your caring. |
