Never forget What Happened at 2001.09.11  

Same. Even though I was about 7 that time and just came from a friends birthday. I saw my mum crying infront of the TV. Probably it´s because I was born in NYC and that day will never be forgotten.  

Do you guys think that the terrorists would have considered their act successful?

Obviously lots of damage was done, but I wonder what their ultimate goals were.

Probably they missed the Statue Of Liberty so they changed their way to the Twin Towers and send 1 more to the second one.  

Of course I won't forget about 9/11. Every year it's exploited to high hell by politicians, businesses, and broadcasting companies.

I have no clue where you are getting this, but why would they ever aim for the Statue of Liberty?

If they did that, they would kill barely anyone. Hitting the twin towers killed many more. The twin towers were a very prominent sight in NY.

I have to be honest tho, I can't stand 9/11 documentaries and TV specials.
They exploit this event so much for the sake of ratings and profits, all while chanting "Never Forget."
Then they throw some "9/11 Memorial Coins" and "Commemorative Plates" in your face, and want you to pay money so you will "Never Forget."

If you ask people who were actually there, in New York, most of them will tell you that they want to forget. Who wants to never forget the sight of people falling to their deaths? Of chaos in the streets, and mass murder.

Most of the people screaming "Never Forget" in your face are the people who were thousands of miles away. Who could only witness what was happening on the TV, in a very censored manor.

We should never forget that we were attacked that day. That our freedom was attacked by terrorists.
We should honor those who died, and remember their lives. Not remember their deaths, and how they died.
A horrible, tragic event happened, and we should remember it happened.
But lets not nitpick and focus on the excruciating details, and make countless documentaries, and have a weeks worth of programming dedicated to this.
Because the people who are making these documentaries probably don't give a crap about the people who died. These shows are amazing for ratings.

So really, no one has to worry about never forgetting, because there will always be someone there to make sure you don't.

I think the original idea was to create a "domino effect" but that was unsuccessful when the towers collapsed.

For the people directly affected by those tragedies, I don't think they forgot at all.

If we actually care as much about remembering the fallen, we don't need to be reminded every few seconds on every TV station in the country.

• American Airlines Flight 11 was hijacked and aimed for the North Tower. Hit target at 8:46 AM.
• United Airlines Flight 175 was hijacked and aimed for the South Tower. Hit target at 9:03 AM.
• American Airlines Flight 77 was hijacked and aimed for the Pentagon. Hit target at 9:73 AM.
• United Airlines Flight 93 was hijacked. Aim is unclear, but passengers fought hijackers and crashed the plane in a field near Shanksville, PA.

Flights 11, 175, and 77 were hijacked by teams of five men, at least one of which attended pilot school in the United States. Flight 93 was hijacked by four men, also including at least one who attended pilot school. The CIA had these men listed as supicious before they even came into America. The reasons they were not detected by the FBI before they boarded the planes include the fact that the CIA did not relay information regarding other countries to the FBI. America has been made aware of openings in its defense, and has made amends to the systems to provide a much safer environment.

Yes, may our hearts always feel and our minds always remember what happened that day. It is nothing to joke about, and definitely a thing to take seriously even if you don't live in America. Because I don't care who you are or where you live, nobody would be alright with it happening to someone in their lives.

I do agree, however, that the media makes a bit more of a deal about it than it really should be. I don't think it should go unnoticed, but I do think they may take things a bit too far here and there.
