Finally! This is great, but I hate the fact that it is the same as Skype for Web, just another Chromium browser. Atleast there will be Linux support

Why does it matter that it's a repackaging of the web version? I'm using the out of date native Linux client ATM.

The "browser" is made for Skype and has some minor changes and features added for better perfomance. But the most important part is that lazy Windows developers just have to update Chromium instead and some bugs can get fixed (voice/video/no native 64 build,etc.). The last update was back in 2014 but this year, they offer us support and don't ignore us.
