I actually had an idea just like this before this came out. Unfortunately the video doesn't represent realistic gameplay, but it'd be pretty sweet if they hooked up with the Microsoft Hololens team and made something really amazing.

They hooked up with the team that made the app Ingress that you can try out. That group also helped with the Google map April fools from this year where you can catch the 151 Pokemon on google map.

i really wish it wasn't an app on your phone. I feel like it seems cheaper that way? To be honest, if it were a game released on like the 3DS or something I could see it being a lot more popular.

iOS/Android apps will always be 100x more popular than handheld consoles. The decision to throw this game to iOS is because it has a unbelieveably wide audience.

I agree, it's quite obvious that Phones are basically everywhere. But it still diminishes the "game's" quality for me. It may be because i prefer buttons and a joystick rather than touch screen. Nonetheless, it still seems cheaper to me. I keep using cheap because I'm not sure how else to phrase it.

To be honest, I don't have high expectations for this as it will probably be like Google Map's April Fools a while ago, and the footage shown won't be actual gameplay.
That being said it looks as though they are serious so it might be similar to the Face Invaders on the 3DS.
All in all, I'm going to download it ASAP.
