Damned vases
vases: they drop hearts, but waaaaay too rarely. I really want to host poison purge (see unholy nation), but even if I reverse the rules to getting a heart=poison, it would likely be an event spanning over a highly unwanted amount of time. (I bought 18)

I brought this up multiple times. Vases were messed with a while back, both furniture and non-furniture vases. Roughly 1 out of every 10 vases will contain a heart (I'm not over-exaggerating, if anything I'm under-exaggerating) AND you can't spam throw vases anymore (with the old vases, if you were holding one picked up another, it would immediately toss and pick up. But now you have to press the grab button twice, and it's much slower). Also, when throwing the "new" vases, they go through walls, which looks tacky and poorly-coded. The most confusing part is, half the vases around the map function the new, stupid way. And half function the old, logical way. It doesn't make any sense at all. The only point of vases is to RESTORE HEARTS. That's why they're placed in certain, strategic areas. Like the vases that are in that room in the bandit cave that you now warp out of if you die. Vases were put in that room so that you could replenish your hearts, because when you respawn outside the room after dying, you only come back with half a heart. These vases are currently functioning the old, logical way (but for a while they weren't, which means someone did change them). Please change ALL the non-furniture vases (not just some) back to the old way of functioning. And as far as the furniture vases go; I prefer being able to pick them up over they used to function (when you could only destroy them with your sword), even if they are clunky and glitchy, but make the heart drop-rate 100%. ALL vases should drop a heart every time. Vases are not bushes. Hearts are not gralats. This idea did not work. |

I think the problem comes down to bad game design; in the past, there was no such thing as AP, deaths & kill counts, etc. Collecting health from pots was just some idea Stefan threw in there originally to mockup old SNES style consoles. While I admit that "pots" were nice, I personally feel this functionality is long out-dated and actually detracts from the game. Gralats used to not exist; they were rupees from Zelda. They were much more common. Things evolve. A game where people are killing all the time and trying to avoid death counts and increase kill counts (for some players) is problematic if you can just walk into any old house and find a ying-yang health drop from under every single pot you pickup. The concept was never well-thought out to begin with.

I'd be fine if it was like 50/50 (or if this is toggle able) I played poison purge with livid, and hosted it with two guys who i forced to find Waldo first, and they enjoyed it |
