Basically, anyone can post handy tips and tricks for making looting a worth while activity for money making

For my benefit as well as others.

I know there are small sounds when a loot appears, so this can help if you aren't paying attention.

Questions:
Is it better to stay in one place?

Actually, every time I move i get more loot, so I think staying in one place is pretty boring and slows down the process.

You go in the water and wait for those bubbles to come up and use the HM move dive to get the loot below, Before your trainer drowns there would be a "!" mark you must use dive again to go up.
Note: You must need a lapras to loot.

No. It is never better to stay in one place for anything. Swim around the entire map and I guarentee you will find more loots then just wait around for loots to respawn.

After staying in one place for too long you see loot less often. Make sure you have the goggles. I also remember Dusty saying that areas with larger amounts of water have lower spawn rates for loot.

What I do and what has worked for me:

I loot at Big City and equip the goggles and flippers and slowly move around the edges of the map to where you can see the most water. If you play on iphone, play zoomed out. I've heard that you can get more loot if you tap on the goggles every once in awhile. The problem with this is that you have to be on land to be able to tap them so I wedge myself between two of the smaller rock spikes poking up above the water, which stands you on top of one. Spam the button a couple of times, and continue to slowly swim around.

I like to be watching tv or a movie while doing it or else I get real bored.

If I see loot do other players see that same loot? So if I stay still I see less loot, but if another player is moving around me he sees more loot, but if we see the same loot, then my less oot plus his more loot is lootiful?

Things that determine the rate of loot spawning:
1) Whether you are diving and have the goggles.
2) Areas with a lot of water lowers the chance slightly(such as sitting in the York Town Bay)
3) Having already obtained an item in that surrounding area slightly decreases the rate
4) Being in a new area increases the rate
5) Spawn spots already existing decreases the rate slightly
6) The more to items you have found in a specific area, the less likely you are to find more items in that area.

All in all, diving was designed to encourage movement, and it was designed to punish those who sat in one spot looting over and over. To increase your chances the best thing you can do is create a route in which you loot a specific area for a little while, then move on to the next area and repeat.

There's no need to actually equip the goggles. If the goggles are in your inventory, it will increase your diving time either way.

Zooming out on iPhone increases the area you can see by 4x. Though, Im not sure if seeing more water surface area = increased chances of loot spawns

The loot still spawns relatively close to the size of an iPhone screen. What I mean is if you are on an iPad, you will most likely still see the same amount as an iPhone.

Isn't there already a thread about this? I don't see why people can't just search "loot" titles only... Either way, go to ... I forgot the name, the area with the volcano you get to by using the ship at belle island.
