Hello Ol'Westerners! I come to ya'll today to announce the release of a huge update for Mining! A huge new cave system has been added with new rocks which give you a certain mineral based on which rock you're mining. Each rock requires a different level. You gain exp as you mine to level up, in addition to the mineral you receive. There are also several new pickaxes. Each pickaxe requires a different mining level as well.

The new caves are in replace of the old ones, just left of the Saloon. To start out, purchase a wooden pickaxe from the usual mining shop locations or within the mines themselves. Other pickaxes are also purchasable in the mining shop within the caves. When you mine a rock, you become the owner of that rock and nobody else is able to hit it! If you don't mine your rock for 5 seconds, it is now a public rock and can be taken over by anyone else!

Also, be sure to not stand in the same spot for too long, or else you'll be hurt from falling rocks. Bats are also known to roam the mines and have been seen to attack non-moving players. The mines are a dangerous, yet fun, place to be! The highest level you can be right now is 99. I plan to increase the level later on so that new rocks and pickaxes can be added. Other minerals and pickaxes could also be added in the future, it just depends on how everybody likes the mining!

Come down to the mines and become a master miner!

Perhaps you could have npcs that assign you a mining daily where you sell x amount of ores for a premium price just to help overcome the dauntingness of it all or even perhaps gain an extra bit of exp on handing in of the task. Judging straight from the video, you should display the amount of exp left to level up as well.

Perhaps tasks can be added later on! Great idea

Say /miningexp to see your current EXP and EXP remaining
Say /mininglevel to just see your current mining level

I plan to make a GUI for EXP display later on.

Update: New caves have been added so that there are more rocks available. All four pickaxes are now on sale as they should be  

This is a pretty huge revamp to the mining system that we faced in the past. Now you can mine for specific ores that you wanted in crafting. Great Job Alpho, 2 thumbs to this

Update: Now you can check your level quickly from the Stats menu. A separate menu will be added later for levels, but this is how it will be for now.
 

I really like it. More fun stuff to do! I suggest making it so you're only able to mine one rock at a time, so people don't start hogging all of them. It isn't really necessary though since I level up fast enough as it is.  

How many hits does the diamond rock take from the diamond pickaxe at max level?


Also, please make your next project involve making sub-factions mean something.

Well, the higher level you are, the more you can mine the rare rocks and sell them. So if you get all the way up to diamond then you can mine as much diamond rocks as you want. Each diamond sells for $17.

I'm still doing the bug job, hopefully they can update more bugs XD With higher price of course.  

Also, if ya'll are confused where the caves are, it's just in the old mining cave location.
