Philosophy
Just wanted to start a philosophy thread for all the philosophical guys out there like myself. Have you guys ever realized how small we are relative to the cosmos? The amount of matter in each of us is so small that if we were to compare the amount of matter in one of our bodies vs the total amount of matter on earth, we'd get a number like 1/10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0000000000000000000000000000000? Now just think about all of the matter in the UNIVERSE. It just amazes me how we're just about 1000 people on a forum for a game when there are stars being destroyed and born. This is just one of the ideas I have about philosophy. Feel free to discuss mine or bring up your own. |

This is something I've been asking myself forever. I personally believe that there could be a God, however, there is no definitive proof that he/she/it existed. I find it curious how the only people that claim to have seen or heard God existed 2000 years ago and are now all dead. I'm personally a Buddhist myself, I strive to become a better person and I enjoy meditating, but I apply my beliefs about God as I said earlier. |

Why think about it? If there is a god, then we'll meet him in the afterlife. If there isn't, well then you wasted time of your existence thinking about it. Then again I have like 3000 hours in ****ing Graal. |

Majority of people that go wrong with God is the attempt of comprehending God, therefore creating doubt. I think it's natural for us as humans to assume God is this huge humanoid - like man with an enormous beard and grey hair etc. but that is wrong. If there is a God, God is omnibenevolent, omnipresent, all-powerful etc. we can't comprehend this level of power, so we doubt it.

A lot of people mis comprehend the text in the Bible, and many members of the Church turn it into something it's not. For example, the Bible says that God told Adam and Eve to multiply, so people are like "OMG UR G@Y THE BIBLE SAYS UR GONNA BURN IN THE AFTERLIFE GOD HATES YOU NOW OMG BLAH BLAH BLAH" God doesn't hate anyone, he loves us all, including homosexuals. |

What befuddles me is the universe. We've discovered TRILLIONS of stars, each TRILLIONS of miles apart, and yet the universe is STILL expanding at a rapid rate. Crazy to think that out of the quintillions of possible planets, we get Earth. One of my favorite quotes ever, by my boy Carl Sagan. "Consider again that dot [Earth]. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there - on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.” Did a diety or a higher power create the universe?
