The Good
-This game has a very new and interesting feel to it. If you were an iEra player it has a very homely and familiar feel to it, but not too familiar as it offers many new things. It carries a lot of potential and is definitely something new and mildly enjoyable. It has some cool features like the ability to shoot your gun while riding on horseback which I found to be very satisfying and exciting.
-The guns. All of the guns feel unique and were very well balanced. They all serve different roles in PvP and PvE which makes each one fun to use. This allows for gameplay that requires skill and forces you to adapt to different situations. This is definitely preferred opposed to iEra's pay2win system. There are also many cool items like the lasso that actually allow players to tame and ride the many animals that can be seen on the map for a certain period of time.
-The jobs. I actually enjoyed a lot of the jobs and thought they were pretty nice. The game offers about 5 ways to get money and has a nice take on the mining system. The jobs are profitable and very reliant. Money making on this game is smooth and easy.
-Everything is cheap. This is the brilliant thing about this game that works hand in hand with the constant income that can be made from jobs. I've done quite a bit of exploring around the map and from what I've seen, the most expensive item I saw was a gun for 3000 gralats. This would be pocket change on a game like iEra where a half decent gun is about 50k or on iClassic where 3000 gralats could buy you 1 of their fugly holiday hats. For a matter of fact, I saw one hat shop where every hat was only 150 gralats, loving that.
The Bad
-Those cursed on-map NPCs. In all my time on graal I have never seen such a broken and annoying system. The NPCs I'm referring to are the Bandits, Cowboys and Indians that dominate this game's map. NPCs on this game have 360 degree shooting and it almost feels like the bullets they fire can track you. Plus, most of these NPCs are just plain broken. I often see a bug where these NPCs fly all around your screen spamming bullets, very annoying. Lastly, I play on an iPad so I have a large field of view. These NPCs will attack you no matter how far away from them you are. Their agro area is so unreasonably large and really needs to be fixed. These NPCs are such savages and are just flat out broken.
-This is the most average game you could make. Don't get me wrong it's fun, but this game has little to no exclusive content as every major feature is just things from iEra. I joined the game expecting to see some cool bank robberies and such, but was just disappointed when I learned that Ol' West's "bank robberies" was really just Era's basing system but re-skinned.
-The graphics. I've played quite a deal of graal servers over my years, but these graphics are just atrocious compared to the other iOS server's graphics. The graphic's styles just change up so much. Of course, I understand that many different graphics staff go into making a server but everyone's style of graphics is just so severely different. If you were to just reskin a few of the things and places on the map then the whole theme would just come to life.
-The tutorial. This game probably would have been better off without even having a tutorial to begin with. To be completely honest I would take it out because it gave an awful first impression. It didn't make any sense and it just made me feel lost. As well as the fact that it was bad, I never even got to finish it. I got about half way through it then it told me to go preform a "bank robbery" (iEra's basing system) and I ended up getting killed. Upon that it warped into the main map and that was just insanely confusing and very unorganized.
-The factions. I love the idea of Cowboys vs Indians (yes, Ol' West refers to them as Indians) but there is already a fault in the theme of that. They were never called Indians. Anyone with the slightest knowledge of American history knows that in that period of time they were called Native Americans. Calling them Indians is just degrading. Back to the main thing I'm trying to say. The factions serve no purpose, nothing about them makes them unique. They should each have features specific to each faction, but they don't. Unfortunately, what is supposed to be one of the game's biggest features, is the most lacking.
Conclusion
Overall this game can be enjoyable. It lacks in a lot of areas and feels a bit rushed in many aspects. Although, the game has potential and offers some unique and balanced gameplay. I'd recommend it to players of iEra as it offers an interesting twist to a lot of the servers content. 6/10
