Well guys I'm getting my Wisdom teeth removed Saturday, so I'm just asking has anybody been though it and please tell me what your experience was like. I admit I'm kinda nervous as I'm getting all of them pulled and I've never had surgery in my life so this will be a first. I'm going with the general anesthesia instead of the gas (I used laughing gas alot when I was younger for feelings) so I don't know what that will feel like.  

During the removal? You won't feel anything because you'll be knocked out. Afterwards you'll feel groggy, and remember bits and pieces after coming out of it. You might say/do embarrassing things. I insisted on taking selfies, and I NEVER take pictures of myself.

Afterwards will be a bit meh, but they'll probably prescribe you painkillers. Mines were especially bad(horizontally impacted) and they had to sew my gums shut, but I didn't think the post-op pain was all that bad... but it varies from person to person and depends on your pain tolerance.

The worst part is when it wasn't healing properly and still bleeding after a few days and I had to go back: they stuck a clover-filled swab into my gums... but I don't think that's normally something that happens.  

Ouch, Dusty I'm sorry you had to go through all that, but thank you so much I'm already less nervous now then I was.  

I had my wisdom teeth removed and it really wasn't a big deal at all. Knowing that I would be knocked out through anesthesia and wouldn't feel a thing greatly reduced my anxiety. You're supposed to feel sore afterwards, but I didn't feel sore at all. The only thing that was annoying was my tongue being numb from the Novocaine (I think that's what they used) so I wasn't able to enjoy eating food at all.  

Just remember to save them teeth to put under your pillow

They lean you back, put an IV in (the IV actually doesnt even hurt because theyll already have the gas on), tell you to count down from 10; I dont think I even made it 7.

Next thing I know, Im in the car asking what time it is every few minutes.

The most important thing is taking care of yourself afterwards. Gotta change out gauze pads every few hours until you can get the bleeding to stop. Take Advil by the sh*t-tons for several days. You arent going to be eating solid food either for awhile. But the doctor will give you a sheet of paper with instructions and stuff afterwards.  

Different for everyone. My worst part was the IV needle. (Aside from tattoos, I hate needles.) I actually felt no pain during recovery and even skipped the painkillers they gave me. Pretty much watched TV and ate mashed potatoes and cream of wheat for a week. Just follow the rules they give you and don't do anything they tell you not to do. (No sucking on straws, playing around with stitches..) Your immune system will help heal your mouth too, so get enough rest. You should be absolutely fine as long as you take care of yourself!

When I sat down, they gave me the anesthesia and asked me about school. I answered one question and I remember the second one, but I don't remember answering. Its just like when you wake up and don't remember the exact moment you fell asleep, for me anyway. When I woke up and asked if it was over, they said it was finished 15 minutes ago. But they yelled at me when I tried to fall asleep again.. Did I mention I had my four wisdom pulled a week and a half before Thanksgiving? I enjoyed very little turkey that holiday.

That was actually one of the things I was worried about lol...  

I tried to eat a hamburger like the day after I got mine pulled. The stitches tore out. Not recommended.

Hahahahah this reminds me of my sister. Ohhhh hahahah! So my sister is like a nerdy smart girl who is really sensitive and has set up all these morals and boundaries. She has a lot of rules she set for herself when it comes to language, attitude, social etiquette ect

You wanna know what she did when she got off that surgical bed and was still on the anesthesia? She screamed "F*** YOU!!! F*** YOUU B****!!!!" to the doctors as my mom was walking her out the door. She was screaming it down the hall as little kids watched. The funny thing was the doctors were awesome and did everything perfectly to where there really wasn't any after-complications. My sister remembered this later and felt so guilty because she told me she actually really liked the doctors xD and she never wanted to scream bad words in front of a bunch of children

Got the anesthesia too and it was painless. Recovery took a little over a week, and was okay too. I love soup so I wasn't in too much agony. I remember being dragged after the surgery; I couldn't remember how to walk lolol. But I can't remember much of what I said/did otherwise. Don't worry about it-- if something embarrassing happens, at least you'll have a funny story to tell. Mine was uneventful!

Haha I remember the countdown (the only thing I remember, really.) I was leaning back staring at a bright light and the lady came over "Alright, I'm going to countdown from 10." I think I made it to 8 and I was knocked out.

My brother was getting a type of surgery done that day and they did the same thing to him except he actually didn't knock out. It was creepy as hell. They counted down to 3 and he fell back knocked out then he woke back up laughing saying that won't work on him. Haha, good memory but weird as heck.
