The Graalians Notebook.
Introducing the Graalians Notebook. I bought a hardcover sketchbook and am going to send it from Graalian to Graalian around the world, and have each member add something to a page of their own, whether it's a picture, drawing, poem, story, or anything. Should be an interesting experiment seeing what everyone is able to share!
I'm probably going to need some assistance in organizing this so if you're interested just ask.
Register by PMing me on here or Facebook if you're interested. You MUST tell me your location. A country and city is enough for now.
The deadline for registering is April 11th.
I'll be updating a list of people registered. Eventually, when we have a finalized list, I'll post a map of the route on google maps. There will be a maximum number of 96 people allowed (If it even gets to that number). Only register if you're sure you'll keep up with this project. If you don't respond in time when it gets to you, we'll just skip you.
FAQ:
What is it?
The goal is to create this awesome journal that houses drawings, poems, stories, tales, sketches, graffiti, etc. from all around the globe.
Why?
Because why not?
How do I get in on the action?
Just PM me.
Will I have to give my address to someone?
Yes. We're mailing it so an address is required for the package to reach its destination. The address is just going to be given through PMs. Only one or (maybe) two people will ever see it. Its not like we're going to plaster your address up high for everyone to see. Its going to be as confidential as possible.
How will it get to everyone?
Through the mail. I would NOT recommend using UPS or FedEx for shipping if you're on a budget since this is a small light notebook. UPS and FedEx are ridiculously expensive for something like this. You could save a lot of money using your local postal service. For example, with UPS it costs $20 to mail the Notebook from Houston to New York, while with the United States Postal Service it only costs merely $5 to mail it. I would imagine it would be similar for other countries' postal services, so please check them out if you can and see what their rates are.
If you aren't willing to pay postal fees you probably shouldn't participate. In the US, USPS has a Flat Rate Padded Envelope that should fit the notebook, for $5.95. It should look like this: https://www.usps.com/stamp-collectin...in-900x695.jpg
What will happen to the notebook when it's all said and done?
Hopefully several members along the notebook's journey will scan in a couple pages each (or its entirety if a member desires to do so) to create a digital archive of sorts. The finished version of the notebook, as of now, will be back in my hands and then we will decide what, if anything, to do with it.
What will happen if the notebook is lost?
If someone doesn't send the book, either we go back to whomever scanned the last page and they get/send a new one, or it just goes on from the next person in line.
How do we know we can trust everyone?
The people that are willing to actually go through with this (I'm talking about sticking with it for months) will probably not be the people that will try to ruin the project.
When will it be my turn?
When it gets to you, you impatient bastard. We are trying to make the route as efficient as possible, so please add your locations to your posts so that we can effectively strategize and get this thing moving across the globe.
Any other questions, feel free to ask. I'm going to start it off with a short entry and maybe a couple of drawings.
We need to keep the limit to about 2-3 days per person. Sooner is obviously better. Limit, as of now, is MAXIMUM 2 pages.
Markers are fine, but if they bleed you better place some other cardstock or paper behind your page so that you don't interfere with the space available to the next entry.
Stickers are welcome on the front and back covers. Be aware that if you put a huge sticker on the notebook, though, you do run the risk of someone placing a smaller sticker on yours.
Don't mess this up. Don't do nasty things to it. Treat it with respect and above all have fun.
