Final Fantasy VII
yep i know imma get a buttload of haters for this thread, but I love this game. And for the young kids who aren't old enough to remember this gem, let me tell you it's totally worth it. Sadly it was released on the PS1 so anyone wanting to buy an official copy will be probably $80 lighter... Luckily Square decided to release the game on PC. So there lies your salvation people. Get this game. play it all the way through. This is not a story of old people with a case of nostalgia. This game is that friggin' good. It is one for the ages. Megaman X, Super Mario 3, Final Fantasy 7. Play it. -Haro 41 |

I used to play Final Fantasy a lot when I was younger. The thing is they make too many of them and it's annoying to keep up so I don't bother with it anymore.

Emulating the PS1 version was more stable than the PC Version, when it came to playing on PC. Hahaha I liked the older Final Fantasies, Gameboy and SNES specifically. I wasn't too fond of the "Lets slap a jpeg as the background image and have them move along an invisible walkway", look of the Playstation 1 versions. |

I couldn't stand to play them for longer than I did. FF4 is old fashioned. FF5 tried to impliment new ideas, bit short. FF6 had a lot of polish and work. |

I know I loved one of these as a kid, but I don't remember which one.

I don't see why you'd get a lot of hate for loving Final Fantasy VII. I ****ing love it, that's where the "Rufus" handle came from. Every few months (maybe weeks) I get nostalgic about it, listen to a music track on YouTube, look up for latest updates on a possible remake. I swear, I never invested in a PS3 and I still have no desire to do so. If they remade Final Fantasy VII for it I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I always decide to replay the game, but I end up getting to a certain point and then just stop. I had the itch lately, but instead I decided to try a Final Fantasy game that I didn't complete -- Final Fantasy VIII. It was't as bad as everyone makes it out to be, at least not at the beginning. I'm at the final boss now though and at this point everything seems confusing, rushed, and very anti-climatic. I agree with Haro. If you haven't played it already and can appreciate a good RPG, get it downloaded son. |

My only qualms about final fantasy. Everyone refers to the games by final fantasy then the roman numerals of what number it is. Past III all hell breaks lose and people some how screw it up and get IV mixed up with VI and some even do crap like IIII. Seriously. Why don't they have names for each sequel? Or at least use Arabic numerals so idiots can manage to understand what number is what. Spoiler

Never beat it. I first got it in a Toys R Us discount bin. I saw the back of the box and was like "oh man, that looks awesome!" then I played the game and my opinion changed to "what the **** is this(I should mention this was my first RPG ever)?" and I put it away. Eventually my sisters friend borrowed it and it was ruined, until I eventually bought it again after liking FF8 so much. I didn't get far, and eventually stopped playing. Started over again with more knowledge of RPGs and got to like the third disc, but just ended up losing my steam.
