Banking System
Banking in the iClassic Community The Bank near Burger Refuge is quaint and quiet. Yet, it has much potential to become a useful tool throughout the iClassic Community. I'm not positive if this idea has been threaded before, or even spoken. But here's what I was thinking, and I'm sure you've thought of this idea as well. The Idea Banking is a common activity humans partake in everyday or week. It's more-like a storage for money, so why not add this to Classic? The system could consist of things that have been implemented in real life. Graalians could walk into the bank, and talk to the guy at the desk. He could ask you if you'd like to use the Graalian bank, you simply press yes or no, according to the actions you'd like to pursue. Then he'd ask you if you'd like to withdraw, or deposit. You'd press the option you'd want once again. If you were to press 'withdraw' he'd ask you the amount you want to withdraw, judging on the amount you have inside. **You type the specific amount you want** And then you would receive that amount, simple enough, right? If you'd press 'deposit' you can put in the amount that you type, if you go over the amount you own, a message would pop up saying that you don't have enough gralats. The reward Well, you're probably thinking 'Why would you do this? It's the same thing as keeping gralats in your profile?' No, like real banks, you receive interest rates. Let's say you have 1 gralat, and you deposit it into the bank. The currency inside your account would raise, pertaining to the time it stays in there. That 1 gralat could raise into 10, and then to 20. So really, you're making money, by doing nothing. |

So the only purpose of the bank is to give players free money? I don't see the point. Banks have purpose in real life: Your money is kept "safe" and the banks have YOUR money to spend. So while you basically give the banks free money, they entice you with the concept of interest. This is useless in Graal though because you giving the bank Gralats doesn't benefit the bank at all(since it's not actually a business). Besides that, there's no reason to have a bank since there's no real way to lose money in Graal. It made sense way back when you lose gralats when you died, but your gralats are safe and sound sitting in your profile. |

There's a reason people use banks in real life; it's so that you have safe keeping for your money. There is no danger of losing money on Graal, so a bank would ultimately be useless.

It's not useless, it's just another way to earn gralats. Haven't the staff team been looking around for ways to earn gralats? And no, you don't get a lot of gralats from Interest Rates. 1 turning to 10 would take awhile. And even if they are getting 'free' gralats, what's the harm in that?

> Banks offer to keep your money safe. > Also offer you interest, the more money you give them, the more you potentially get long term(which means the bank gets to hold your money longer) > They get to spend your money willy-nilly. Both parties benefit. In Graal's case the only person who benefits in the player. Unless we pool the money and let staff use it, and then listen to the players whine when suddenly the bank goes Bankrupt or robbed by baddies and no one bails them out. In the end you want free, effortless money... in a game that needs to make money via players buying money packs. |

Plus would you really trust the bank with your money? Last time I checked the baddies stole every bit of its wealth.

I think what'd be a better way for people to earn money is to kill people at forts. The players don't actually lose money from their profile when they die but they drop it. It'd encourage the people who just sit around all day blowing on the flag while their buddies are in the middle of a war below to actually do something.

This would be a cool idea if there was actually a reason to use it. I don't like the idea of earning interest, so the only other reason to deposit money would be to keep it safe. As it stands right now, your money is comepletly safe in your profile so the idea is kinda pointless.

It's true that the bank has much potential. Sadly, not this.
